I prefer regular cd cases, they fit all the cd shelves I have on my comp and look better imo.

I bought Suspended Animation by Fantomas for $5 and it was a cardboard sleeve, promo too.

Maybe I'm just swayed because I love all the ary involved in Constellation Records artists. My Godspeed, Do Make Say Think, and 1-Speed Bike cardboard album cases all have great artwork.

Ha. I see what you did there.

You snuck in two bad bands to trip him up.

Mastodon and Megadeth.

Hah. Smart man.
I'm surprised that those are the only bands in my list that you have an issue with. Besides, the important thing is that he is tricked into listening to them even if they're not his thing at all :)
metal lol

On that note, there's a kid I sit with at lunch (although I really can't stand him) miraculously morphed into a pseudo-metalhead over the summer. Therefore, all period he kept telling me to put on "Wake Up Dead" (Megadeth) on my iPod. Great song, but I'll stick to my Stereolab thankyouverymuch. So even though I didn't put it on, he banged along to it with his fingers/hands/feet/voice anyway... all period.
$18.99 at Tower, but that's the only place I've looked really.

Plus its not even a real cd, its that new stupid pocket (well it's an actual cd but you know what I mean).
$5.99

something vague 10-25-2005 04:22 PM

The sleeve things for CDs look more like vinyl sleeves, so I like them much more, but you can't really keep the CDs in those, because they would get scratched easily from pulling it in and out. Case in point, Funeral.

Little Man being Erased 10-25-2005 04:30 PM

Funeral has the worst cardboard case ever.

The special edition of Hail to the Thief comes close though.
Manic Street Preachers - The Holy Bible
Gilby Clarke (ex-GnR) - 99 Live or Pawnshop Guitars
Motley Crue - Too Fast For Love
Motley Crue - Generation Swine

All of those should be just not glam enough for you to appreciate :p
I left before y'all replied, I would have so looked for the Gilby Clarke cd. I got J Mascis - Free so free instead, it's soundin pretty sweet:D

Iai 10-25-2005 05:14 PM

There's a guy in my music class who've a serious power metaller. Every time I see him he's either wearing a Blind Guardian t-shirt or a Rhapsody hoodie. He's Italian, which may explain this.

Scott Herren 10-25-2005 05:57 PM

Annie's DJ Kicks was released today. Great stuff. The Death from Above 1979 and Le Tigre songs are great, but the album as a whole is probably a 4/5.
Yeah about the same, I haven't had a free moment all day. I'm going to bed now, which I'm looking forward to. Have a nice day mate.
Sorry to be late.

So you like the City of Caterpillar?

I thought so.

I'm watching Brass Eye. I'm meant to be writing an essay on it, but it's hard because I just can't stop laughing.

Iai 10-26-2005 01:25 AM

Hey, I managed to stay up all night watching Brass Eye. Cool.

I even finished the essay!

That sounds like the best essay ever :(

Kyle 10-26-2005 06:43 AM

I have two essays to write in about 3 days, but I keep on getting side-tracked. I have to write on on Captain Corellis Mandolin and another on A clockwork orange and Battle Royale.

Kyle 10-26-2005 06:55 AM
It could be worse; the two I've read are good books.
yeah, I should have mentioned that I'm doing the film versions of 'A Clockwork Orange' and 'Battle Royale' as it's for media studies. and the Book version of Captain Corelli. I love all 3 texts so it shouldnt be so bad. Just wish I hadn't left it so late.

Electrocution 10-26-2005 07:32 AM

I'm writing an essay on William S. Burroughs

Does Itunes' AAC format actually make a noticeable difference in the size of audio files?

Get a boom box.

Modern technology, psssh posh.

Happymeal 10-26-2005 03:34 PM

Today in school we had a pep rally for the sports teams. Everyone packed in the gym like sardines and came outside to watch the football game all sweaty and reeking, only to be greeted by the terrible cold. Brrr.

Interstate 10-26-2005 03:53 PM

I had some nutjob preacher guy on my train coming back from work today. I offered him my seat (he was quite elderly and frail) and then 2 minutes later he starts preaching to everyone about how jesus is coming to save the world.

Anxious 10-26-2005 04:01 PM

People that use public transportation here are crazy too.

BillCosby 10-26-2005 04:22 PM

I'm cool with the english teacher that I'm a T.A. for, so she lets me play whatever CDs I want during class as long as they aren't particularly profane. Today I brought in GNFPWLBN by Modest Mouse and I forgot about a certain part in "Black Cadillacs"... and it was pretty loud...

So all the little impressionable freshmen heard
"STOP FUCK FUCK FUCKING AROUND".
Much giggling ensued.

Everyone had been completely quiet, so everybody heard.. it was kind of awkard.. :/

Zappa 10-26-2005 04:43 PM

Crumb's review of my album is up. I'm a celebrity.

The Great Decay 10-26-2005 05:07 PM

When I found out you made an album, the last thing I thought of was instrumental. That explains the sudden love of Mogwai.

Zappa 10-26-2005 05:15 PM

Mm, well I am a huge fan of instrumental music, and have been forever. Mogwai isn't really that big of a factor.

Electrocution 10-26-2005 05:17 PM

My haircut is a crime against humanity.

The Great Decay 10-26-2005 05:17 PM

I suppose I don't know much about your music tastes.
