It really is, all I need now is Red.

Have any of you heard Blind Faith's work. They were one of Clapton's short lived bands in the sixties. Their only album is great, I suggest checking it out.

magicbus 01-09-2005 05:09 PM

I'm familiar with them, Ginger Baker was also involved methinks, but I've never heard their work.

BludgeonySteve 01-09-2005 05:09 PM

They were pretty good. They didn't last very long though and didn't get a lot ofpraise for their album.

Broken Arrow 01-09-2005 05:12 PM

I'd call Blind Faith a "pre supergroup".

I think that french herion killed Jim as he killed Janis Jolpin.
your last statement confuses me a little. i understand that by Jolpin you mean Joplin, but you think Jim Morrison killed Janis Joplin? Or you think that Jean's heroin killed them both? I dont think it was french heroin either, most likely chinese.

I think Jim died because he was probably the most unhealthy person in the world. He said he didn't believe in drinking any fluids other than alcohol with a meal (and we all know how much he drank), he started smoking a couple packs of cigarettes a day, did cocaine and heroin a lot near the end of his days.

He should have stuck with acid and pot...that's the Jim Morrison I know and love.

magicbus 01-09-2005 05:23 PM

Yea, the drinking every minute is what really made me lose a hero. I really looked up to the pot smoking, acid taking Jim Morrison.

:p

Broken Arrow 01-09-2005 05:28 PM

Woah.
What I meant was: I think is was the French Herion dealer who killed Jim.

Count Jean Bretuil or something like that.(I wasn't completely thinking straight earlier.;)

Yeah sorry, as I said before I'm not really thinking today.

gmoneyguy 01-09-2005 06:06 PM

I just bought Led Zeppelin II today. I was really looking for LA Woman, but they didn't have it.

DeusExMachina 01-09-2005 06:07 PM

John Lennon did a lot of heroin in the 70's. Just thought I'd point that out.

Its Yoko who got him into that.
']I cant really judge The Darkness's skill because that **** video always distracts me. It's so annoying and obnoxious IMO.
The Darkness are a very good band.

Check out heartbreaker on it it has a really good solo

Jam2Me 01-09-2005 06:16 PM

I think every great guitarist has done massive amounts of heroin. A lesson to be learned from that, if you wanna be good--DO HEROIN!

gmoneyguy 01-09-2005 06:17 PM

Did Page do it? Did Clapton? Did Beck? Harrison?

Jam2Me 01-09-2005 06:20 PM

Clapton, yes tons. Clapton probably got Harrison into since they were together all the time while Clapton was heavily into it. I dunno much about Page so.. Beck I dunno either.

gmoneyguy 01-09-2005 06:24 PM

Clapton always seemed like the good guy to me.

DeusExMachina 01-09-2005 06:24 PM
Check out heartbreaker on it it has a really good solo
I'm not a big fan of that solo. Way too sloppy for my taste. It's like prehistoric Malmsteen. Just fast, but not very musical.

magicbus 01-09-2005 06:27 PM

Yea Clapton had a bigass heroin addiction in the 70's. But now he's clean and better than ever.

Led Zeppelin II is very cool. Gives off a bluesy vibe to me. Probably my favorite Zeppelin, tied with III. Actually I like II better.

Jam2Me 01-09-2005 06:30 PM

Anyone know aobut Page? I dunno much about Zeppelin I just always assumed they were heavily into the rock star life of drugs, sex, alcohol, drugs, rinse and repeat.

Woodstock 01-09-2005 06:33 PM
Anyone know aobut Page? I dunno much about Zeppelin I just always assumed they were heavily into the rock star life of drugs, sex, alcohol, drugs, rinse and repeat.
Yes, Page was heavily into heroin during 75-80. This may explain why the albums from that time weren't up to par. Excluding Physical Graffiti.
