It's weird because it comes in the most unexpected ways. I mean I give myself a life ratio of 70-75 years tops, but what if I die before that?

I don't know.

I've grown out of crying or getting sad with death. I see it more as a transition.

It's odd that they've never one an Oscar, considering their talent.

Death always has, and most likely, always will really upset me.

If I may, I do think that Ray's avatar/location combination is rather humorous.

That little boy (pretend it's Sweet Baby Ray - no, not the barbecue sauce) will be in everyone's hearts and minds for all eternity or something. Is he screaming "That's racist!" or what? It's like he just saw the cue card and exploded.
Who's Uncle Tom?
Uncle Tom is a pejorative term for a black person who is perceived by other blacks to be obsequiously servile to white authority figures, or who simply are perceived as being unnecessarily accommodating of whites. The term Uncle Tom comes from the title character of white author Harriet Beecher Stowe's novel Uncle Tom's Cabin.

It is used to denote African Americans whose political views or allegiances are considered by critics detrimental to blacks as a group.

translation: an uncle tom is a black man who takes it from the white man and likes it

Riva 03-13-2006 06:19 PM

We call those people coconuts here, but it's mostly in jest, since we don't have the same political schism as the US.

I'm writing an essay, and I'm really bad at it. I keep getting distracted, reading off on long tangents.

But, how are you?

Cain 03-13-2006 06:29 PM

Hello everyone. :)

Okay, now that I've got Jom and HeavyRiva in the same place....which one of you changed my avatar last week? I'm guessing Jason.

EDIT: answer and question also goes to Bartender

What's up, [guys].

I kinda don't talk about the goings-on of my life anymore, but things are alright, thanks.

Bartender: you and Moz have had essay issues lately, heh. As do I, but I only have to write a brief for a court case, not a full-blown essay. Not yet, anyway, though. That's this week/weekend :upset:

I recently made an excursion to Best Buy with a friend because he had some coupons and things that expired today and he said he'd be damned if he didn't use them, so I bought three movies and only had to pay something like eight bucks in cash for them.

They're not particularly impressive movies for the most part, though. I just wanted them because I had some coupons and gift cards to splurge.

How's things with you [guys]?

gillygan 03-13-2006 06:35 PM

 Look at the first 9 posts at the top of the page.

So I just got home from school, I wanna go record something but I'm to lazy to go set stuff up.

Alright I suppose, got some mixed exam results last week, excellent English ones, but I'm going to have to pull my Law result up.

Still haven't had the chance to talk to a fine young lady I recently got the MSN address of, but I'll be patient:p

That's about it, I'm avoiding schoolwork, too.

Well Smokey better get his act together. Recruit Bambi or something. I don't have time go around preventing forest fires.
Well despite my apparent inability to concentrate for more than a few minutes at a time, the essay's going reasonably well. I also have read more in the last hour or so about a 19th century mathematician, Smokey the bear, vinyl-only releases in Japan and Glaser safety slugs than I ever really thought I wanted to.

I'm okay really, though. Quite hungry, but I'll be asleep soon and then it won't matter. And my Easter break is in just a couple of weeks now, so once the essay's out of the way I've got just ten or so more days before time off for the first time since Christmas. All about having things to look forward to.

I have so much to pack in before Easter :(
Two Drama exams, a live show with my band, English coursework, and over the holidays I'll have Drama coursework to do.
