I don't think I'd be too nervous once I got used to it. Its just getting passed the initial first few times that I'll have a problem.
I hope anyways. |
I have a MAJOR problem with singing in front of people.
Unless I get to like act it out... like a musical or something. I can do that. But like... for choir. Blah. That's scary stuff. |
I've never had too much of a problem singing in front of people...
The only time I've really been SUPER nervous was when our "a capella" trio won gold at an LTC convention. Meaning, we had to sing our 3 songs...In front of 6000 people. I almost cried.
Well, how'd you do? Acapella is really cool. |
The only band I've found I could sing without sounding really off is Zebrahead.
My hopes of an acoustic band are slim.
I'm not worried about sounding exactly like it really, just something thats faster and heavier but not like really fast or heavy. "Streaks in the Sky" by Thursday is my ideal song. |
We did better than the performance that won the gold. :thumb:
A capella is fuuuuuun. We had a group for fun to kill time during practices, we'd record ourselves using the sound system. It was so cool. Haha. Rissa was Dorothy! I've only done two musicals. HONK! and Carnival. But man, I'd love to do more. |
Im not apresiated enough here.
|
Is that 8-10-10 Jon?
I don't think I'd be too nervous once I got used to it. Its just getting passed the initial first few times that I'll have a problem.
I hope anyways.
One thing that's really fun: Power metal singing. I did this with my friends at lunch one time. I can go really falsetto, so, in the highest voice I could while still sounding coherert, I started singing about dragons and the mighty crystal of the Earth Warriors. Everyone laughed, and everyone got comfertable with me singing. It was fun. It helps that most of my friends play an instrument, though, and are used to being performed for. |

It's the tabit thing I've gotten the most compliments for.
i dig it with a shovel dude |
Is that 8-10-10 Jon?
Yes. With solo  |
Streaks in the sky is my favorite song off of that album.
And WTF, Vin Diesel is playing hitman in the hit man movie? ****in' weak, the guy that the characters look and voice is based off of was begging for the role, but the hollywood assholes gave it to diesel. So i guess this will just be another formulaic cash cow.... |
I've only done two musicals. HONK! and Carnival. But man, I'd love to do more.
I haaaate musicals because there are always a bazillion kids in them. I hate theater kids. I know I used to be the biggest green room rat ever... but ick... they are ANNOYING. I'd much rather do an adult show. |
I'd shat myself. :amaze:
My main problem is choosing songs that I feel comfortable singing with really.
the important thing when singing other people's songs is to try and not imitate them. sing with your voice |
Yes. With solo
I listen to that more than like 40% of the music on my playlist. |
I haaaate musicals because there are always a bazillion kids in them. I hate theater kids. I know I used to be the biggest green room rat ever... but ick... they are ANNOYING.
I'd much rather do an adult show.
Ours were never all that bad, really. The worse one as far as people went was Carnival, because there were always middle schoolers with us. During HONK! the middle school kids rehearsed seperately, and they were the biggest problems. |
I've got no problem playing/singing/talking in front of people.
In all honesty I think I'd do better in front of a crowd of people than I would in front of a band I'd be auditioning for. Cause really they're the only people I have to impress, and thats the scary part. |

I know, I can't really imitate voices anyways. |
Just pretend you're jamming. Take a seat or something, look at your guitar/bass/drums and let it go.
no way. you have to get really into it. Start jumping around and **** all over the place. its 70% how you look, 20% how you sound and 10% what you say |

its 70% how you look, 20% how you sound and 10% what you say
I'm really bad at thrashing. I had a bad experience: I was walking around with my guitar strapped on to me, and while I was walking, the strap slipped off and my guitar fell. I seriously cried. Every since I've been so carefull of dropping my guitar ever to thrash. |

I still have that hideous thing somewhere. I'm so excited for the season to start up again. |

I'm not looking forward to Anne Frank... because I have a sinking feeling that whoever is playing Anne is gonna be a pain in the ass. Maybe I should audition to avoid a pain in the ass actress. |
STRAPGUARD!
I used to lose my strap allll the time. Haha.
I might get one if I'm every in a band. Unless there are some really cool freshman, or some awesome new kids in the next few years, it's not likely. I can be animated and walk around and the likes, and do a from-above-the-waist-headbang kind of thing, but any twirls or jumping is far beyond me. |

I'm going to bed. Later guys.

I don't even want to play in a band anymore, really. Singing for one might be cool, but anything else doesn't seem appealing.
I don't play guitar much anymore. People ask me to play a few songs that they made me learn (IE - Avril Lavigne, Katy Rose, Eisley, The Honorary Title.) for them, but that's it. |
its all about Ninja Kicks
Most things that require flexibilty are beyond me as well. I'm out of shape as ****. But, I did grow my hair out. Headbanging is just that much cooler. |

But, I did grow my hair out. Headbanging is just that much cooler.
yeah i need to get in better shape so i can start doing flips as well. i like the hardcore kid headbanging where you go down and then come up so your guitar is like vertical |

I got together with my best friend (Who's always a great bassist, which is a good pairing), a good drummer and a great Jazz guitarist a few months ago. I do a bunch of jazz chords, but with ska upstrokes and such, tell the jazz guitarist what I can playing, and he and the bassist would just do mad solos. It was the most fun I've had since. I miss being in a band so bad :( |

The poison the well music video from You Come Before You (I forget the song) illustrates the perfect headbanging right during the breakdown. I can do that. |

But I don't think it'd have the chemistry my old band had. We were tight for 4 years. :(
Bad break up? |
