^That's quite interesting
To toolfreak im fairly sure that they played WA on their last Australian tour.... Just wait ill check my t-shirt.... Yep they played WA
It was like 18 months after Lateralus they toured. :-/
Actually they did two shows in Sydney and a show in Melbourne about 2 months after the release. Ten months later they came back and did a proper tour that included Canberra, Newcastle and Wollongong which are kind of weird places for a big band like tool to go. |
Oh right close enough. :(
|
Just a heads up:
On the Toolband.com website before the 30 second intro to "Vicarious" comes on there's a segue. It sounds alot like that "metal sea" type sound we've been reading about.. *shrugs* Maybe the website is going to be streaming more 30 second songs..? Here's to hoping.. |
can someone confirm when tickets go on sale?
|
"Marie" is the middle name of Maynard James Keenan's deceased mother,
Judith Marie Keenan. * As Keenan explains on commentary on aMOTION, his mother suffered a stroke that left her in partially paralyzed and wheelchair-bound. The length of time between her paralysis and her death was 27 years, or approximately 10,000 days." Found in my inbox from Tool mailing list this morning. Thought I should share
Ah, wow....thanks for sharing. Dude, Maynard wrote a song about his mom.....that is SO emo!! j/k ;) . |
/waits for photos of Maynard with an emo fringe and super tight black jeans to emerge.
Now theres a disgusting thought :( |
Well the last song he wrote after his mother was far from emo, so now worries there lol
And considering what he wears on-stage, that doesnt seem as disgusting as it should be. Which also makes me wonder what his get-up will be this tour |
can someone confirm when tickets go on sale?
Seems like they're going on sale at different times. You might want to check ticketmater for that. Dallas goes on sale 10:00am central time, MN at noon (central), Chicago at 11 (central), Boston at 10am (eastern)..etc, etc. And looks like some of the prices have gone down..they're not all up for $66 anymore. |
those times were all for this saturday correct?
you just check the main site, or does the TOoL site have a link? |
those times were all for this saturday correct?
you just check the main site, or does the TOoL site have a link?
yeah, they're all for this saturday. just search for Tool on ticketmaster and most dates will come out.
Yeah, I guess I'm just going to have to keep my fingers crossed. Strangely enough, what Blair is saying seems to be completely accurate for every show except the Toronto show. Every city has the tickets going on sale Saturday morning, according to ticketmaster, but the Toronto show has that Wednesday presale and then public ticket release on Friday.
Hey, I just found this over at the spiral boards and thought i'd post this here seeing as how you were questioning the whole pre-sale thing.
Q:anyone know what the TOOL "Circle of Friends" internet presale is??? this is diplayed on http://www.ticketmaster.ca/event/10...1&minorcatid=60 Circle of Friends Start:Wed, 04/19/06 10:00 AM EDT End:Thu, 04/20/06 11:59 PM EDT A:Circle of Friends is the name of the membership "club" for the Hummingbird Centre. It is exclusive to the venue, and allows members added benefits (including presales) to all Hummingbird Centre events. However the Circle of Friends is a poorly organized borderline scam. A friend purchased the $60 membership on Monday after being told by at least 2 people including the Circle of Friends co-ordinator (after talking to 2-3 idiots who apparently knew no basic info about the membership) that he would be given the password today for Wednesdays presale. We found out today it was a lie, and that the presale password would not be given to him for at least a week. Then he was told he could do the presale, but only by phone using his membership information. It's a cash grab for the venue, since most Tool fans are not so likely to utilize the membership throughout the rest of the year, as the venue is mostly home to the ballet, and other events such as Dora the Explorer Live. It's like having to pay for the Spiral, but paying twice as much, and getting no benefits beyond ONE presale.
|
Hey, does anyone know who TOOL are going to be touring with?
I hope it isn't Messugah again. Also, does anyone have any backing tracks that have bass and drums for any TOOL songs? |
So I just checked ticketmaster for the date of the Boston show that was posted yesterday on toolband.com. The price says $55 and that is a bit steep for me right now. After they go to Europe they will be touring the US again right? Should I risk them not playing near here after Europe or should I suck it up and go for the May 21 show?
|
might as well just go for it, who knows if TOOL will ever tour again.
|
Could someone possibly hit me up with the new single?

You're being sarcastic, right? |
That song does fucking rule
|
No, he said it was about his mom.
And I don't really like it, it's one of my least favorite on Mer De Noms. |
You're being sarcastic, right?
Um...no. Why don't you like it? And why don't you think it's about his mom? It seems pretty obvious to me. |
No, he said it was about his mom.
And I don't really like it, it's one of my least favorite on Mer De Noms.
Yes it is about his mom. |
Have both of you even seen the lyrics? Are we even talking about the same song? Judith is obviously about blind religious faith. I honestly don't see how you could think any different.
|
The new Tool album has leaked.
|
Indeed.
|
But I don't know where. Probably on Oink.
|
Yeah, that was where.
Is that bjork in your avatar? |
The new Tool album has leaked.
bollocks. just incase...can you get the link for that... |

Yes. It is. I like APC some. Their very inconsistent though. There's a few good songs and then the rest are just "ehh". |
how does OiNK work?
|
Judith was actually based around his mothers passing, from what I've read, but yes, it's also about blind religious faith.
|
The story behind "Judith":
Maynard's mom, Judith Marie Keenan, was paralyzed for about twenty-seven years before she eventually died. The whole time, her faith in religion and God was intact while Maynard watched her basically waste away. The song expresses his anger towards the blind devotion toward religion that his mother showed. "F*ck your god Your Lord, Your Christ He did this Took all you had and Left you this way Still you prayed, never straying..." So it's basically both. |
The album may actually have leaked. Toolnavy's server's too busy for my lurking, and the last time that happened was when 'Vicarious' leaked.
|
Yeah it's on oink.me.uk right now, I just got an invite from my friend.
Well, the download has actually finished, but I really don't want to open it! I know it's legit, aswell. |
Yeah, that was where.

I stand by my choice to avoid the leaked album. As hard as it will be, I'm going to wait until May 2nd.
|
Don't download it fools. You'll ruin the major experience of hearing the new album. You've waited about 5 years, you can wait another 12 days or so
|
Uhhhm, how about I send one song out? Instead of the whole album, just one more song for those out there who still want to have the 'experience', but are dying to hear another song?
I can't give the link to the oink torrent, it's not allowed. |
Don't download it fools. You'll ruin the major experience of hearing the new album. You've waited about 5 years, you can wait another 12 days or so
Perfectly said. |
Or, I could give a 10 second teaser from each song? A song?
