You rate that higher than Number of The Beast ?? |
You rate that higher than Number of The Beast ??
Yep. I rate it higher than anything but Piece of Mind. NOTB does have the best song ever written to close it though... |
NOTB is the most overrated Maiden album by far and I barely listen to it.
Of course, Hallowed > Everything. |
Of course, Hallowed > Everything.
'Hallowed Be Thy Name' is hands-down the greatest song ever written. |
123.

NOTB is probably the second worse maiden album IMO. Still a great album though. Even bad maiden albums are still awesome albums. TXF would also probably be in my top5 maiden albums. But i really think we should give NPFTD alot more credit then it gets, it has some great songs on it and the only really downfall of the album is the production, otherwise i love it. |
Well I only own two IM albums and I've only heard another one in its entireity. I was blown away when I heard Hallowed Be Thy Name. One of my all time favourite songs with The Prisoner a close second.

That's one of my least favourite Maiden albums.
But i really think we should give NPFTD alot more credit then it gets, it has some great songs on it and the only really downfall of the album is the production, otherwise i love it.
I think it's a good album but all of the songs are sort of middle range Maiden songs. There's no real stand out pieces on it. |
i don't think NOTB is the second worst maiden album, (but then i have issues ordering them), and as for NPFTD having no standout songs, i think BYDTTS is excellent, there's the S/T, HS (and don't forget the excellent video :)) although the lack of progression, production, and some of the other songs to let the side down a bit.

I think it's a good album but all of the songs are sort of middle range Maiden songs. There's no real stand out pieces on it.
S/T, Public enema#1, fates warning, holy smoke, run silent run deep, mother russia. Plenty of good standout tracks IMO. But i agree with PAJJ about production and progression of the tracks. It sounds like janick used his most old and rustiest string for this album =/ |

Just got this album. Its awesome. |
I really, really, really like Invaders. Few others do. Hell, even Steve thinks it's crap.
|
Invaders is one of the few songs from NotB that i still listen to on a regular basis. It's a very underrated track.

Trust me. Hallowed Be Thy Name will be your favourite on that album in time. |
I just have this particular againstness on 22 Acacia Avenue and Gangland from that album.
Other than those, it entertains me greatly. I still can't get over the 80ness of SSoASS. :( |
It's a lot less 80s than Somewhere in Time i'd say.. love both though :)
|
Hallowed Be They Name and The Prisoneraremy favourite Miaden songs at the moment. Infact my top 5 IM songs are
1. Hallowed Be Thy Name 2. The Prisoner 3. Where Eagles Dare 4. The Clairvoyant 5. Fear Of The Dark |
A top 5 Maiden song list is far too hard :(
|
yeah i'm not even gonna attempt to make a list of my favourite maiden songs/albums, it would change evey few days anyway :)
|
Songs?
1. Paschendale 2. Powerslave 3. Aces High 4. Rime of the Ancient Mariner 5. Hallowed Be Thy Name Everything after that changes often. :) |
Songs
Rime Hallowed Paschendale Sign of the Cross Where Eagles Dare Blood Brothers Infinite Dreams Evil that Men Do etc., etc. |
Hmmm...I have no freaking idea. I like a lot.
1. The Wickerman 2. Hallowed Be Thy Name 3. Murders In The Rue Morgue 4. Phantom Of The Opera 5. Fear Of The Dark Well, that's what it is now. It's bound to change. |
Well, AMOLAD has been leaked already.
I've just been listening to it briefly, my best description so far is X-Factor under the disguise of SSOASS. You can tell they've tried to go into a different direction. Fore The Greater Good of God reaks of The Unbeliever from X-factor. I'll have a better listen in the morrow, but I have mixed feelings atm. BTW, if I like it, I'll buy it, if not I'll never talk about this album again and Maiden will only have 13 Albums in my eyes :P |
