I'm going to see if my friend wants to go down to this punk rock flea market on saturday. And afterwards, since we'll be kind of close, we could go to this.

ONE UP
HAVE HEART
LEARN
FIRED UP
IRON AGE
FAR OUT

6pm, $6.

40 oz 2 freedom 06-20-2005 07:54 PM

Iron Age is awesome, old singer from Far From Breaking, bassist from Hold Fast.

NewKindofArmy03 06-20-2005 07:55 PM

I think I listened to them when someone posted them before. I like One Up, Have Heart, and Far Out already so it would be a good show.

40 oz 2 freedom 06-20-2005 08:00 PM

It was probably me that posted them, they're from here.

What exactly is a breakdown in music? Is there anything specific a true breakdown must have to be considered a true breakdown? Or can a breakdown just be anything in which the tempo changes?

NewKindofArmy03 06-20-2005 08:17 PM

It's really hard to explain. I wouldn't say it's ANYTHING in which the tempo changes, but I don't really know how to explain it. It's just something I know.

The breakdown in Doomsayer is nuts. I've been listening to a ton of Hatebreed the past few days.

Listen to The Color of Money by Bury Your Dead. That entire song is a breakdown.

40 oz 2 freedom 06-20-2005 08:23 PM

An entire song can't be a breakdown, because there's nothing that it's "breaking down".

Strife - Blistered

After the 2nd chorus there is a prime example of breakdown.

Dude, listen to it.

40 oz 2 freedom 06-20-2005 08:28 PM

I've heard it, still if the entire song is a breakdown, there is no breakdown. If you know what I'm saying.

RetiredAt21 06-20-2005 08:34 PM

Alot of the hardcore bands write songs that mostly sound like breakdowns. The kids who dance love breakdowns, and when bands want to get popular, they write music that the kids like. Breakdowns can't go wrong.

X One Way X - Generic Hardcore Song

I love that song. I listened to it 945679456 times today. Never gets old.

Semantics. If they recognize that song as a breakdown, they'll recognize breakdowns in other songs. You dig?

RetiredAt21 06-20-2005 08:42 PM

I dig.

oopyman 06-20-2005 08:44 PM

He digs.

cbmartinez 06-20-2005 08:45 PM

You guys like a life once lost?

I know, I was just bustin' your balls.

I do despite the same slide they use every 5 seconds.

I know, but I had to unbust my balls.

Yeah cb, ALOL are cool.

Kinda sad that they're from here and I listened to them maybe once, and that was their new stuff. From what I understand, the old stuff is amazing and the new stuff is a Meshuggah rip-off.

oopyman 06-20-2005 08:49 PM

Joan Said Please is a great song.

cbmartinez 06-20-2005 08:50 PM

Yeah, they soung pretty cool. I think their CD comes out tomorrow. I also saw a picture of Madball and lol'd at that huge hispanic dude.

cbmartinez 06-20-2005 08:57 PM

Also, Reach The Sky is cool and I got the new Finch.

40 oz 2 freedom 06-20-2005 08:59 PM

The new Finch title and artwork is terrrrible. How is it?

Let's Chop Cats! 06-20-2005 09:00 PM

Terrible like most of their music.

cbmartinez 06-20-2005 09:02 PM
The new Finch title and artwork is terrrrible. How is it?
The artwork is really weird. The music is alright, alot different from WIITB. Extremely Glassjaw, post-hardcore sound. The album is harder to get into than the poppy tracks of WIITB. I haven't really decided which is the better album.

Yeah right, What It Is To Burn got me through middle school.

NewKindofArmy03 06-20-2005 09:12 PM

I remember rocking out to that one Finch song all the time in 7th grade. The one where the dude just screams something in the beginning.
