Are you a girl?
I just know a girl named Britta and the name Brittallica kinda.. Yeah :)

Anyway, you don't _need_ two guitarists, just get the bassist to do the rhythm :) It's a bit of work, but it pays off 10 fold.

That's how I do it anyway (Although, I am primarily a guitarist these days, I was once a bassist \m/)

Endless Obsession 08-13-2005 01:11 PM

Metallica cant tune back to E standard because James can't sing that high anymore.

Metallideth666 08-13-2005 06:49 PM
Yah the St. Anger album is a lot of fun to rock out to especially certain breakdowns like in Sweet Amber the irff he plays under the lyrics "She traces me and draws me in" thats so cool. And the one in the Unnamed Feeling where james gets all pissed and yells "I wanna cry i wanna scream" its mor like a passionate fury.

My friend got me into metallica about 2 1/2 years ago but he hates st.anger and will be pissed if they make another St.Anger album (which will probly be the case). Im def buyin it and im glad to know that theres still intellegent musicians like ourselves who respect metallica and dont giv a f**k about wut negative things people say about them, just like metallica doesnt giv f**k about wut people say. ROCK THE F**K ON
you know...us thrashers really don't like that "hard rock" kind of sound...so i personally am wishing for a kill em all type album not some gay stuff like you like so yeah...woo

Chu 08-13-2005 07:09 PM

St. Anger was the closest thing to thrash they have released since ...AJFA (With the exception of one or two songs), so you're wrong there buddy.

Just because it doesn't have the typical thrash sound, doesn't mean it's not thrash. We're obviously not going to get another album anywhere similar to Kill 'em All, or ...AJFA even, just hope we get another St. Anger at least. That's not to say St. Anger's bad, I actually like it, like I said, it's the closest thing to thrash since ...AJFA, it's a step in the right direction for sure, just not a big enough step.

Exactly, it is a helluva lot more metal than their stuff in the 90s that's for sure

Britton 08-13-2005 07:34 PM

No my name is Britton...I'm not a girl

Lol whenever I'm meeting some one new they always ask me how I spell it

my nickname is Great Britton....catchy huh>?

Britton 08-13-2005 07:35 PM

is your friend Hot?

Chu 08-13-2005 07:38 PM

Extremely...

YouGottaBeCrazy 08-13-2005 07:42 PM
Metallica cant tune back to E standard because James can't sing that high anymore.
 That was herendous.

Britton 08-13-2005 07:58 PM

I'm glad to hear she's hot (#?)
j/k

yea I would much rather James's voice now to it back then

if yall got that live in donington show somebody posted up here a while
ago they do the four horsemen (my favourite Tallica song...not really but close)
his voice is so awsome...especialy on the miawtw tour

Six Foot Revolver 08-13-2005 08:03 PM
 That was herendous.
yah, thanx, to CHU for backing me up on wut i sed and drisagreeing with this guy. St.Anger is new school thrash and i hav sed this about 3 times b4, metallica is not going to make an old school thrash album they r done with that. They like to venture into new uncharted teritory that maost rock bands are scared to do so there probly wont be a new kill em all album but there probly will be a new St. Anger (with solos preferably) album.........and thanx to Chu and Six foot revolver for backing me up on my post that metallideth bashed

Schecterguitarist 08-13-2005 08:07 PM

What kind of music would us metllifans want to here on the new album? I want new St.Anger songs with solos cuz it hasnt been done and i dont want old thrash cuz they went thru it for 10 years, the next 10 were alternative rock, and the NOW ten years is new school hevy drop c thrash, luv that ****

YouGottaBeCrazy 08-13-2005 08:09 PM
So is your spelling
So is your use of punctuation.

Schecterguitarist 08-13-2005 08:11 PM

sry about not using the edit button but i only use it wen what i want to say is on the same subject as the other. So wut i think is the coolest thing about etallica is that 90-95% of their songs are in e minor but they all sound so f**king different!! even the load and reload albums are in e minor mostly but that sounds totally different from their 80s thrash days, thats why metallica are the metallibest

Six Foot Revolver 08-13-2005 08:15 PM
So is your use of punctuation.
Yup, because I missed a full stop off the end of my sentence I have horrendous(0mGz sp31t r1ght) punctuation. There is certainly a difference between a . and such a spelling which is terribly off.

It was one spelling mistake and you are jumping down my throat and talking to me like I'm a "noob." Grow up.

So be it, I will back off.

YouGottaBeCrazy 08-13-2005 08:26 PM

So shall I. I apologize.

Britton 08-13-2005 08:47 PM

Yea come on ya'll be cool!

Oh and Y'all is in the webster's dictionary!

Yee Haw

thelittledrummerboy 08-13-2005 10:00 PM

I,ve just been reading a lot of stuff about Cliff, it's weird when your listening to his music and reading that. Just wish there was more footage of him playing.

Magero 08-13-2005 11:09 PM

OMG! I'm listening to the ST. Anger Rehearsals DVD.James is playing a custom built 7-string forest on Some Kind Of Monster, You cant hear Kirk playing at all, James keeps forgetting all the words and Rob is f***ing mad! I noticed that James plays a lot of the points where it's only one guitar. It's like He and Kirk swapped places. Oh and NEVER let Kirk sing. And on the subject of songs to play (sorry i'm behind) For Whom The Bell Tolls is good but if I have to play it one more time, i'm going to embed my guitar in my own head!

THaBaSSPLaYiNGMaNiaC 08-14-2005 03:12 AM
Yea man I feel it's annoying whenever some member of the band is away
do you all have covers or origanals?

I've been thinking about buying that book it looked like a must for big Tallica fans!
I haven't watched that in ages. The only part i can remember is Kirk fúcking up at the beginning(sp?) of a song.

exup 08-14-2005 07:38 AM

where can i see that

Jev 08-14-2005 07:40 AM

It comes free with St. Anger.

no we havent anof experience so we first gona cover :p

Jev 08-14-2005 07:53 AM

Write originals. I do, most of them aren't that long but if i'm playing them live and screw up, no-one but me is going to notice. If you screw up a cover everyone's gonna notice.

lightningmetal666 08-14-2005 09:51 AM

I love the part on Some Kinda Monster (I was watching it again on VH1)
where on fan appreciation day people got the chance to jam with Metallica.
I thought it was awesome when that hot chick got to play Seek and Destroy with the band.

The commentary to the film on DVD is hilarious in places.

I want to buy the DVD but srry no cash. (haven't gotten paid yet. ;) )
I've only seen it twice on VH1.

temporary 08-14-2005 10:52 AM

Just saw Some Kind of Monster last night on VH1, and I thought it was actually a great film. Interesting look into the internal workings of the band.

With your own song you can totally fúck up and then go "Yeah, that's part of the song, I meant to do that" and nobody will know :shifty:

Yeah, I own the dvd. The best documentary on them :thumb:

Schecterguitarist 08-14-2005 01:50 PM

The documentary SKOM is rly something els u get a whole new perspective on these guys on their individual personalities and not just as crazy rock stars. I like the part wen mustaine talks to ulrich about how ****ty james and lars made him feel wen they kiked him out. He says that he was happy in metallica and the small things were the coolest and most special parts of hanging out wit them (like dave sed that him and lars once talked about diggin a hole in the ground and smokin hash right from the earth, the small things u kno?). Dave also tells them that he hates thinkin of himself as #2 wen he was #1, and he keeps thiknin " I f**ked up!". Its just interesting to c how theyve changed and how they respect eachother so much mor now. I luv the part wen bob and kirk are on jet skis and they bump into eachother at like 20 miles an hour and bob says SH*T lol

Father_Jack 08-14-2005 02:43 PM

Yeah, the bit with Dave talking with the theropy guy was the best. When Dave talked about how some people shout "Yeah Metallica(!)" and stuff when they see him, made me wanna punch these people. And I also thought James was a bit of a dick really at times.

RustedPieces 08-14-2005 02:45 PM

I thought the stuff in the bonus features with Dave was better than what they actually put in the movie. How he talks about how he broke some guys leg because he hurt Lars or something.

Joe 08-14-2005 02:45 PM

So the first thing I see after a week vacation is terrible AIM talk... great...

SKOM was a great dvd.
