snailboy 04-30-2006 12:21 AM

Who has seen Rushmore?

neighborhood fascist 04-30-2006 01:07 AM

Me.
Oh ****, thanks for the heads up. I was gonna head down there for a couple of hours now, but I guess I'll pass now. It's like some Retro Music playing down at face bar, I might go there.
yeah, I think we're going to try and get in again this afternoon but I expect it'll be stupidly busy again. It sucks, we couldn't get in last year either because there were too many people. They should really hold it somewhere other than Kings Meadow. Like a bigger field.

Can somebody please tell me the name of the website where you type in an artist/band and it comes up with a map of similar artists in order of similarity. (if that makes sense)

I can't remember for the life of me what it's called.
Who has seen Rushmore?
me

Speaking of film, I just watched Thumbsucker, it was good, not great though.

Elliott Smith on soundtrack = awesome

br3ad_man 04-30-2006 06:58 AM

I have Rushmore on VHS. It's alright. I'm currently trying to write a speech. It sucks.

Little Man being Erased 04-30-2006 07:00 AM

Rushmore is awesome by the way.

br3ad_man 04-30-2006 07:06 AM

Bottle Rocket is the only one I like out of the ones I've seen.

Little Man being Erased 04-30-2006 07:21 AM

Wow, really? That's my least favourite probably. But then again, I can't go wrong with Wes.

br3ad_man 04-30-2006 07:24 AM

The others had their moments but they were basically just boring as hell. I've only seen Rushmore and Life Aquatic though.

Little Man being Erased 04-30-2006 07:35 AM

Well yeah, I guess if you don't like those you're pretty much garunteed not to like The Royal Tenembaums.

Or basically you suck. :p

StaticSynth 04-30-2006 07:37 AM

The Royal Tenenbaums is good.

Little Man being Erased 04-30-2006 07:39 AM

Of course it is. Only fools like br3ad don't like it.

I Was A Kaleidoscope 04-30-2006 08:25 AM
The Royal Tenenbaums is good.
I loved that movie, but I haven't seen it since it was at the cinemas (ie. in a looooong time). I really should get it on DVD. I might go DVD browsing tomorrow actually.

Little Man being Erased 04-30-2006 08:52 AM

Yah

Little Man being Erased 04-30-2006 09:49 AM

I just had a freaky/weird/cool experience with the tv and a song.

So Mission Impossible 2 was on the tv and we was watching it with no sound and music playing from my pc thru my stereo. And Four Tet's "Parks" came on just before the end. It was about when Tom Cruise and the chick first meet up again after the whole deal. And the song syncd perfectly with the final scene and even right through the credits. To top it off, the song finished exactly when the credits stopped.

/end hippy freakout.

neighborhood fascist 04-30-2006 09:59 AM

I don't like The Royal Tenenbaums.

Glitterati 04-30-2006 10:05 AM
I am totally done with school for the year
Damn you, I still have about four weeks left.
Who has seen Rushmore?
I have.

The Great Decay 04-30-2006 10:07 AM

I still have two months left of school.

Little Man being Erased 04-30-2006 10:14 AM
I don't like The Royal Tenenbaums.
And I don't like you. You are my arch nemesis.

The Great Decay 04-30-2006 10:23 AM

As an independent study project for English I have to choose a novel to read and complete an assignment for. Currently I'm undecided between doing The Picture of Dorian Gray, or One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, which would you recommend?

biografiend 04-30-2006 10:24 AM

I watched a movie called Tarnation this weekend.
It was creepy and amazing, but mostly really amazing. Basically, it is a documentary of a boy's messed up life&family, made up of clips and home movies he had started recording at age 11.
http://imdb.com/title/tt0390538/

I would go with One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.

I haven't read either but I recommend you do The Picture of Dorian Gray. Much more interesting, I suspect.

p.s. do i get the record for most legal posts on one page?

The Great Decay 04-30-2006 11:22 AM

I'll likely read both books regardless, I'm just not sure which to do for this particular assignment.

Little Man being Erased 04-30-2006 11:31 AM

Someone with a real opinion might be able to help.

BillCosby 04-30-2006 12:21 PM

I finally watched City of God. Dizzamn.

I bought it before I'd seen it. It was cheap and I don't regret it for a second. Fantastic film.

pixiesfanyo 04-30-2006 01:38 PM

yeah it is. City of God is to.. you know. not enough about love.

The Great Decay 04-30-2006 05:27 PM

City of God is indeed an amazing film. I don't think I've seen The Constant Gardener, though.

Glitterati 04-30-2006 05:46 PM

I went outside today :)

br3ad_man 04-30-2006 05:57 PM

More people should see The Constant Gardener. It might be the best thing I've ever seen in theatres.

I have to write some speech today, arg.

Quite bold. It is a solid flick; it was recently given to me as a gift, but I haven't rewatched it yet. I might do that tonight after I smooth out a few female dilemmas.
after I smooth out a few female dilemmas.
In that department, I'm sad to say I'm in the same boat ATM.

Maybe A History of Violence beats it. Good luck with the females.

The Great Decay 04-30-2006 09:41 PM

Cursive is releasing a new album in August. I'm excited.
