I have only heard "The Reincarnation...". Can anyone give me some links to where I can listen to their other songs?
You can listen to Different Worlds and Brighter Than A Thousand Suns at www.ironmaiden.com
Wow, don't I feel like a moron. I guess I just never check band's official sites. Thanks, though.
By the way, anyone else a huge fan of Somewhere In Time? That's now my 2nd favorite Maiden album. |
It's alright, but there are a number of albums I would rate above it.
It always seems to stay about middle of my ever changing Maiden albums list.

You can order a copy of AMOLAD deluxe edition with a free tee-shirt from Sanctuary Records, but it's and American offer so you'd get the album a week later.
@ Thor, if you wanna hear clips from each song go to http://www.maidenfans.com i think it was. I don't think they're long enough to ruin the anticipation or surprise for anyone... honestly i've forgotten what each of them sounds like, but i do remember that i had no complaints :)
And I fricken love SiT, TLotLDR is such an epic song. edit: fixed link |
I'm looking at purchasing another Maiden album, at this point I only own The Number of the Beast, any suggestions?
Try Powerslave if you liked The Number Of The Beast. Also if you want to hear some of their more recent stuff I would reccomend Brave New World.
Piece of Mind, and Powerslave will give u that classic maiden feel those 2 i suggest highest but i also recomend their self titled and killers which are their first two albums that feature a different vocalist, and i also highly recomend Brave New World and Dance of Death both albums released in this century great work a real return to form for maiden.
i've had a "new" thought on this go conronological, so self titled is your next purchase, then killers, piece of mind, powerslave, SiT etc

You really cant go wrong with powerslave or seventh son of a seventh son, both ace albums and really easy to get into. If you want to check out more of their earlier stuff then i'd reccommend buying their S/T |
You really can't go wrong with any of their albums although i'd steer clear of X-Factor unless you want something completely different.
I would say that the X Factor is far, far better than Virtual XI.
The X Factor isn't a bad album. I would probably put it in the lower-middle of Maiden albums. |
Virtual IX is a very strange little album.
I can't get past "Futureal". It's the only song I genuinely like in there. |
The X-Factor is infinitely better than VXI. VXI is definitely my least favourite Maiden album. The only songs I actually like on there are Futureal, The Clansman and Como Estais Amigos.
X Factor is my second favourite Maiden album, really.
It's an excellent album.
For me, the only song on The X Factor that really stands out is Sign of the Cross. I'd put it up there with any other classic Iron Maiden song.
I think that all the songs on The X Factor are top notch but are somewhat let down by the hollow production.

What exactly do you mean by different? Like how is it different from more traditional Maiden? |

It's very dark and introverted. Instead of dealing with traditional Maiden lyrical themes, it's, well, more grown up than that, more about the psychological aspects of warfare and what it does to the the participants, than describing the battle in a gung-ho, king and country way like, say, the trooper. |
Indeed. Steve was going through some shit at the time, so it took on a much darker tone.
Yeah, which helps in the course of creativity.
Basically Steve said "We're in our mid-thirties, we have more to say about the world and our experience of it than some sci-fi world or battlefield." |
Indeed. Official Maiden Biography FTW.

>_> Yup. NP-Saxon-747(Strangers in the Night) |
Ok, my are now covering Wrathchild instead of Iron Maiden which is sick. Can't wait to kill those awesome wah licks.
