If I could I'd definitely try to make it to the Dallas show only because it's gonna be small venue and you won't get a chance like that for a long time again. Damn it, I wish I could make it...but I've got exams all over the place and I'm very broke at the moment.

Kage 04-17-2006 02:22 PM
Quoted for utter truth..

Alright, so there's going to be a show in Dallas.. QUESTION! Should I make the 4 hour trip from Houston and spend the $120 (because I know my g/f will want to see the show)...OR wait till the official US tour starts..?
Like it's been said, these shows will be pretty "sober" and not too many new sets are going to be played. At least with a full blown tour the sets will be amazing, and new songs galore..

Hmm.. I got f u c ked outed over the last tour, though.. I'm torn..
I'm wondering the exact same thing, but I'm leaning towards no, just wait until a real tour.

Moses 04-17-2006 02:23 PM

I think I'll wait for the real thing... I've got AP stuff.

Bah.

Man, I can't believe they're going to Dallas of all places in Texas. Why not Austin (music capital, for Chrissakes) or Houston, the biggest city?

It was a close call when I went to Toolband.com, I almost heard some of the song. Luckily the Deftones I was listening to drowned it out until I could get the volume down.

Moses 04-17-2006 02:30 PM

Yeah, thank God for Deftones.

That's exactly what I thought as well! Why not Austin or Houston!

Otherside 04-17-2006 02:36 PM

Atleast they're comming to your state :\

The closest show to me is Philly and I live in NC :(

That's amazing, although, as I was going to say, I still have fond memories of travelling to Austin with my buddies to see Deftones and Dredg together. Great times there.

I love going up to Austin, if there was a Tool show there, I'd be there with no question.

Exactly! F u c k Dallas! :thumb:
j/k Dallas, you the rich brother and sister we never had..

Blair loves Houston apparently...(and I don't know whether to be proud of that or not *shrugs*) why couldn't he use his powers of weird esoteric talk to convense the guys to have the concert here..? Damn, you Blair...damn you..

I may not go. The roadtrip could be fun...you know, counting how many species of roadkill there is and all...but I much rather have the whole sha-bang..!

Syncratic 04-17-2006 03:18 PM

Well, they aren't coming back to the Bryce Jordan Center, which is expected. My friend went to that show (in '02, he was 12) and said the crowd absolutely sucked.

Ah, well.

BlindWriting 04-17-2006 04:08 PM

Well it's official, I'm going either May 19th or 20th to one of the NYC shows with some friends.

YES.

Kage 04-17-2006 04:17 PM

That's awesome. It'll be another few months before I get to see them, but I'm patient. Let us know how it goes.

supermasterp0rnoman 04-17-2006 04:19 PM

hopefully i get tickets to the toronto show

strat 04-17-2006 04:25 PM

Daven 04-17-2006 04:26 PM

OW

I feel your pain, that is one hell of a dilema. Least you can be happy seeing Mogwai, they're not playing anywhere near me in the UK, which I feel hard done by

Kage 04-17-2006 04:29 PM

I saw Mogwai and it was great, don't be too down. Tool'll be back, and Mogwai is a unique experience.

Helicon I live was one of the most amazing things I've ever heard created with guitars.

So sell your tickets on ebay for more than you bought them for, whats the big deal?

deadohiosky9 04-17-2006 06:45 PM

So I just heard Vicarious on the radio, suprisingly they didn't cut anything.

RideTheSpiral 04-17-2006 07:08 PM

You people are taking this way too seriously. Its just music.

Darkness 04-17-2006 07:09 PM
You people are taking this way too seriously. Its just music.
What are you talking about?

RideTheSpiral 04-17-2006 07:18 PM

People analysing way too much and not listening to the single. Completely gay.

Darkness 04-17-2006 07:22 PM
People analysing way too much and not listening to the single. Completely gay.
People were just talking about how they played it 10 times a day.

If you meen those who aren't listening to it tell the album comes out, whats wrong with that? They want to experience it all new as a whole.

Deth 04-17-2006 07:29 PM

No, the people who are trying to decipher the lyrics, pull out the Meshuggah influences, trying to find the meaning behind the song.

Dr. Jake Destructo 04-17-2006 07:30 PM

I will see Tool. No matter what. Dammit.

What's there to find in the lyrics? It's rather straight-forward.

BurtonChancellor 04-17-2006 07:53 PM

Man, tickets for Tool in Toronto go onsale this Wednesday morning at 10. Somehow, that works perfect with my schedule! Does anybody else now what the deal is with the Toronto presale though? Because if I log into ticketmaster on Wednesday morning and find that i'm shut out because the sale is password protected or something....then people will die.

Darkness 04-17-2006 07:58 PM
What's there to find in the lyrics? It's rather straight-forward.
That's what I thought.

iceman3019 04-17-2006 08:16 PM

" . . . credulous, divest your desire to believe in
angels in the hearts of men.
pull your head on out.
your head believes it give a listen.
shouldn't have to say it all again.
the universe is hostile,
so impersonal.
devour to survive, so it is,
so it's always been . . ."

this is why i love tool. this single makes the rest of the album sound very promising :) . . .

Dr. Jake Destructo 04-17-2006 08:22 PM
That's what I thought.
The only place someone could minconstrue the lyrics would be if they actually thought Maynard was reflecting the song on himself exclusively.

Actually, there aren't gonna be any pre-sales available..not even for members of ToolArmy. So I guess everyone is gonna have a fair chance at getting tickets to this tour. I have a feeling this is gonna turn out to be a complete mess with scalpers and tickets selling out within minutes. I'm reminded of the club tour NIN did last year around this time as well...it was tough getting tickets for those shows.

Now this whole 'no-pre-sales' thing makes me reconsider joining ToolArmy...I was planning on joining just to get the whole pre-sale advantage but things aren't looking very good as of now.

Spiritofmosa 04-17-2006 08:31 PM

m0gwai is coming to my country!

Trintar_VIII 04-17-2006 09:10 PM

Anyone know how much these tickets in the US are going to cost? I'm thinking of getting a bunch of friends and doing a road trip to Chicago, though I need to know how much they will need.

Kage 04-17-2006 09:11 PM

Any more than $1,000 and I'm not paying.

Darkness 04-17-2006 09:14 PM
Any more than $1,000 and I'm not paying.
300 bucks is my limit... at least untill I get another job.
