Murdererer 04-13-2010 10:18 PM
it's pretty much The Land of Rape & Honey pt. 2.

Psalm 69 is a classic. I haven't listened to anything past Filth Pig but it was solid.
i think psalm 69 is their best album

FatalEnergy 04-13-2010 10:56 PM

I like The Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Taste the most.

Meatplow 04-15-2010 02:27 AM

got Maurizio Bianchi's The Bowls of Anger in the mail today, I initially thought there was nothing in the package but it was just in a flimsy paper sleeve wrapped in plastic which is 1 of only 200 copies apparently.

same with YNOHPMYS (in a digipack though), I now have two copies out of 400 cause the first was broken when I received it and they sent me one for free without even demanding evidence :p

i'm expecting the music itself to probably be ****

Slipping Away 04-17-2010 12:34 PM

Finally giving the Ben Frost catalogue a listen now, really great stuff. Also, been putting off getting tht Mind Is a Terrible Thing To Taste for months now-will have to pick that up soon.

Meatplow 04-17-2010 01:57 PM

I still need to get Frost's Steel Wound

i've been listening to a lot of Brian Eno, dude puts me to sleep (which is a good thing)

Slipping Away 04-17-2010 06:27 PM

Yeah, Steel wound is next, I'm thinking bout getting into some of eno's work, where do you think is the best place to start?, I was thinking another green world but wanst sure

Meatplow 04-17-2010 06:43 PM

Another Green World is my favourite so far, his earlier stuff is more Bowie-esque glam/progressive rock.

Music For Airports seems to be popular, I haven't listened to it yet though.

Slipping Away 04-17-2010 07:58 PM

Cool I'll check it out...Also in the mood for alot of late 80's early 90's industrial for some reason, chemlab,my life with the thrill kill kult, prick, RevCo, any ministry side project (or anything off of WaxTrax), the list goes on...

Meatplow 04-17-2010 08:01 PM

I need more TKK, Sexplosion! has gotten way too many plays.

check out Die Warzau's Disco Rigido, i've been heiling that a lot recently

Aaron 04-17-2010 08:11 PM

I'm going to make a song entirely out of this:
http://instantsfun.es/

Slipping Away 04-17-2010 08:13 PM

Will do, Im only vaguely familiar with them probably because chris vrenna played with them for a while, but I never actually heard them

Meatplow 04-17-2010 10:20 PM

Halo Manash's SYoMA still has to be the best dark ambient album i've heard

Txus 04-17-2010 11:01 PM

Yeah, I'm getting convinced Halo Manash are the best dark ambient project ever. Their whole discography is perfect. I own three of their albums and they came with the best packaging I've ever seen.

Meatplow 04-17-2010 11:05 PM

have you heard Maeror Tri before Mike?

Txus 04-17-2010 11:08 PM

I've heard the name but I never got around checking them out. Are they any good? If so, where should I start?

Meatplow 04-17-2010 11:23 PM

I enjoyed Hypnotikum I quite a bit, check that out.

They have a huge discography.

Txus 04-17-2010 11:26 PM

Will do.

Btw, where have I seen your avatar before?

Meatplow 04-17-2010 11:31 PM

it's Spice 1

Slipping Away 04-18-2010 07:43 AM

Got both Disco and Engine and they're both pretty good, thanks for the rec

sounds interesting, i'll check this out

RouteOne 04-18-2010 11:41 PM

I actually managed to put a Manash song on my friend's ipod right in the middle of his party mix. Last party it came on a few hours in and everyone was like da' fukkk

I then observed the herd from my dark corner...their faces contorted in confusion as the superior tribal hymns fell on deaf ears -_-

Aaron 04-19-2010 12:32 AM

I had a party last weekend and the playlist went:

Anamaguchi - something all bleepy and shi idk
Crystal Castles Remix of Bloc Party - Hunting For Witches
Pink and Yellow - Ethnic Metalcore
Dillinger Escape Plan - I Wouldn't If You Didn't
Burial - Archangel
Have A Nice Life - Hunter
Kate Bush - Running Up That Hill

DEP was lol

Slipping Away 04-19-2010 12:46 PM
does anyone have recs for stuff thats similar to the prodigy?
Early prodigy -

SL2 - On A Ragga Tip
Acen - Trip II The Moon
Shut Up And Dance - Dance Before The Police Come!

Not too sure about later Prodigy but I remember Pitchshifter having some similarities and the guy played guitar on Fat of The Land.

FatalEnergy 04-20-2010 02:44 AM

Dude, you should check out Zaraza - No Paradise to Lose.

I think you'd dig it.

Meatplow 04-20-2010 04:11 AM

i'll check it out

finally got my Maurizio Bianchi YNOHPMYS CD replaced i'll listen to it tonight, The Bowls of Anger is good in a sort of Catfight on a Hotdog kind of way

Meatplow 04-21-2010 07:21 AM

Gas's Pop is a hypnotic listen, Mike

lol

Meatplow 04-21-2010 07:10 PM

Laskfar Vortok's Multiplephemerautism is a complete mind****

Jaundice 04-23-2010 07:42 AM

Little Flowers Dying almost hurts to listen to

dozed off right before Something In Me Ugly

was at least as creepy as that time I fell asleep first time listening to Tago Mago

Meatplow 04-23-2010 07:43 AM

it's one of the most masochistic listens i've ever sat through

I am willing to describe it as a masterpiece of trash though

Jaundice 04-23-2010 07:47 AM

i'm too tired, i don't even remember what happened

it was just loud

i posted at least one of her EPs in the free releases thread, did you ever have a look ? More awkward girl rants and lo-fi electronics.

Meatplow 04-23-2010 08:02 AM

yeah the kiss 7"?

that was awesome

Jaundice 04-23-2010 02:29 PM

I need to upload her split with Smog, more Kiss-type stuff and the other side is some weird lo-fi pop.

Speaking of dumb industrial chicks I need to listen to Johanna Went's LP.

Meatplow 04-25-2010 09:18 AM

why is modern EBM so boring

Jaundice 04-25-2010 11:21 AM

not enough tape loops

you really need to grab some VNV Nation and Assemblage 23 tho, some more memorable 90s-00s stuff

Meatplow 04-25-2010 07:19 PM

I didn't mind the new Cryo album and this Neue Deutsche Härte band called OOMPH! was okay, but a little too fruity for my liking.

2010 stuff i've listened to -

Geoff Mullen & Keith Fullerton Whitman - November 28 2009
Hannes is Gay - Sky
In Strict Confidence - Silver Bullets
Laskfar Vortok - Multiplephemerautism
X-Marks the Pedwalk - Inner Zone Journey

Multiplephemerautism is probably the most interesting, furious breakcore mixed with noise which is pretty ****ing insane. Geoff Mullen & Keith Fullerton Whitman was a decent ambient album as well. All these other random releases I am checking out are the most boring EBM you can imagine, or unimaginative noise music.

listening to all the Pink and Yellow songs I have collected this morning btw
