I don't think the songs on WYWH are made to all meld together, but they have put little transitions in to make the songs flow easily I would say.
|
I think it is pretty cool as it is. Gilmour added a sweet little meld on DSOT though.
Personally, I would say Animals has the best insturmentals out of the Floyd albums I have heard. Plus, it's one of the most politically charged album of it's time, but it's not punk.
Sheep and Pigs are 2 hella good songs with huge instrumentals. |

I agree with you on the lyrics, but Meddle is the best for instrumentals. Echoes is amazing, and One of These Days is Roger Waters best bass line. |
^^Yeah. Shine On is the only song that comes close to Echoes for me.
|
I feel as though Im the only Floyd fan that doesn't seem to really like Animals I find it lyrically fantastic but the music is just boreing.
|
This is kinda reccomendation, but it's about Floyd so I thought I would ask in here.
I own Animals, DSOTM, Wish You Were Here and The Division Bell, what would make a good next Pink Floyd purchase? I don't have enough money for The Wall :( |

Yeah. Shine On (all parts together) are a very close match, but Echoes is better. |
Your not...I dont even find the lyrics that great, with the exception of "The dogs are dead!" Thats one of my favourite floyd lines...i dunno why.

Its a good cd for Waters and Gilmour, but the other band members really didn't do much. |
I think I will listin to it right now.
|
I have DSOTM, WYWH, and PATGOD... now I think I'm going to get Animals.
I have a question though: does Pink Floyd has any DVD out of their performance during the 70's?? |

Rick Wright played a tremendous role in most of the songs. |

So, in The Great Gig in the Sky, what do you guys really think is being said at around the 3:30 mark? I can't decide if it is "if you can hear this you are dying" or "I never said I was afraid of dying." :confuse:

It's something very close to "I never said I was afraid of dying." |
That's pretty much what I was thinking. It makes more sense, I suppose. :thumb: thanks.

If you hear this whisper, you are dying. |
Hey I'm sorry if this was asked allready but:
For anyone that has The Live At Pompeii DVD...What the hell is up with that 2 headed dog? It seems familiar. :thumb: |
i never really liked pin floyd."another brick on the wall" is pretty good though
|
She clearly says (after i further reviewed the song) i never said i was afraid of dying...but somewere i read, maybe the lyrics or somethin somewere, and it confrimed she says if can hear this whisper you are dying.
either way...really makes you think about the whole first half of the album again I know that entire vocals solo on the guitar...i tabbed it myself, its pretty sweet. Just added some wah wah and some signature killer tone at the end (used in ABITW and SOYCD) and it sounds awsome. still have a little editing to do though |

Learn to love them. They are one of the best bands of all time. |
2 headed dog? When?
Go to features, then Odds N' Sods. Then "Previous Covers" To the right, there will be 3 icons, the usual Back. and main menu ones, and a 2 headed dog. You click it and a picture of the dog from the Howling Dog Blues thing appears. With 2 heads. And lights flash. Wait, now i clicked it and got One Of These Days :-\ Just did it again, the dog appeared and now the language suddenly turned to japanese. |
nevermind, i cant find my DVD, its not in the box or any of the DVD players...
if its the dog from howling dog blues, then maybe it has that effect where each side of the picture is symetrical...sometimes floyd used that effect, but if you look closely, see if both side are just mirror images of them selves (if theres a backround behind the dog) |

I never said I was afraid of dying. EDIT: Think about it, was Waters going around telling people to say scary messages into the microphone? Nope, he was asking people questions about life and death, and probably asked the question "Are you afraid of dying?" Doesn't that make more sense? And I don't get what the dog is for either, I just know its the same dog on that song on the DVD. |
Do you have it in Powertab, or what program did you use?
No, i was just bored one day...in the process of learning the whole album (which i know well now), so i just got my guitar, went to the computer, played the song over and over and over again, and tabbed it out as i went. I mustve listen to that woman scream over 100 times...but i added some other stuff in there of my own and gave it sort of an edge. I have it on Word...my very rough draft, and as i kept practicing it, i fixed it up myself without canging the tab. I dont plan on releasing it anytime soon (my reasons are my own), but its really simple. My guitar termolagy might be off, but its on the pentatonic scale, almost entirely around the 12th fret, which you can just barre almost the entire time (with the root note on the 12th string on the G string). I should really practive it again soon...maybe today, since im starting to loose my edge on Money too |
Yes, it really does make more sense than some random subliminal Stairway to Heaven-esque message. So, does anyone know who it was who said that? |
