They're indie. They don't have enoug of the screaming or other factors to connect them to hardcore. "Tritone breakdown," big deal.

Wow 07-02-2005 09:16 PM

Am I the only here who knows Rockets And Blue Lights? :(

cbmartinez 07-02-2005 10:24 PM

Me. :)

Wow 07-02-2005 10:57 PM

Yeah. You too. But that's 'cause I sent them to you.

Anyone else? :(

cbmartinez 07-02-2005 10:58 PM

The best part of that song is that dark bass chord riff. I love that so much.

Wow 07-03-2005 01:12 AM

In "We Are Giants?" I'll listen for it, I don't remember it.

Have I sent you "What They Made You Mean?" That song is fucking incredible.

Edit: Oh yeah, the first thing you hear. Shut up.

Electric Ocean 07-03-2005 07:07 AM

I downloaded "We Are Giants" a few days ago when cb uploaded it to the YSI thread in Pop-Punk. I wasn't too fond of it at first but I gave it a few more listens and it's actually pretty good. It's kinda poppier than most emo stuff but I like that alot. Anyone have any more info on this band/know where I can get some more tracks?

Wow 07-03-2005 12:23 PM

IM me on aim at FuzzyLlamaOfDoom. I have both of their EPs.

Electric Ocean 07-03-2005 12:28 PM

Can you go on MSN? I'm on right now. I'm stephen_thomas50@msn.com incase you didn't know that was me or something.

Wow 07-03-2005 12:48 PM

Sure man.

SunnyDayRealEstateAM 07-03-2005 05:54 PM
They are not post-hardcore. They are fractionally so. That's all anybody is saying here. Let's cut out this wankery. Has anybody else been following Wimbledon? Anybody else seen The Fall of Troy live and heard new songs?
I might see The Fall of Troy. They're playing with this really cool band Maida.

RetiredAt21 07-03-2005 05:59 PM

Didn't Venus Williams pwn Wimbledon?

AndreTheHyena 07-04-2005 02:05 PM

I saw mewithoutyou the other night and it was a grrrreat show. The crowd was amazingly bad, though, but it's to be expected, I guess. Make Believe opened and were likewise amazing.

Foreverlastsamoment 07-04-2005 05:43 PM

check out new band from jersey.

Wow 07-04-2005 06:14 PM

They've been posted here before. Pretty good stuff :)

What's the point of a singer if all you hear is "RAAAAHOROOROHOOOOOOOAUAUAUUUUUUAAIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!" Just get a rabid panther in there, it could probably sound better, and they'd have a cool mascot. :thumb:

cbmartinez 07-04-2005 06:30 PM

Sakita Sarra rules. Original version of "Like A Relictant" was better though.

Foreverlastsamoment 07-04-2005 08:49 PM

haha, yeah but they are freshman in highschool, i mean you still cant understand what they are saying when they are talkingg. but its still some good ****t.

Foreverlastsamoment 07-04-2005 08:51 PM

they dont play too many shows though. But when they do its sick, deffinately should get them some shows.

cbmartinez 07-04-2005 08:58 PM

Yeah, get them to play in Trenton.

RetiredAt21 07-04-2005 11:08 PM

That's really cool DFelon.

The Up and Comming in Emo

There are many new un-signed emo bands that are really good and need people to help spread the word about them. Check out some of these bands and post some...by the way...put a link to sample some of their music.

Adenbrooke - http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=19031332&Mytoken=20050705215037
Second and Devine - http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=6478022&Mytoken=20050705215032

p.s. don't forget to spread the word!!!!!!!!

Wow 07-06-2005 01:46 AM

Neither of those bands are emo.

hahaha, very funny kid, now get out of here!
Besides, those kids of Second and Devine look very stupid with them all having the same hair-do, and the singing is terrible..

SunnyDayRealEstateAM 07-06-2005 08:21 AM

Hahaha ^ speaking the truuf^

RetiredAt21 07-06-2005 10:31 AM

cbmartinez 07-06-2005 10:54 AM

"A Tale For The Ages" is quite possibly the best emo song ever.

Electric Ocean 07-06-2005 10:56 AM

^^^

It's damn good but I don't think I'd go quite that far.

cbmartinez 07-06-2005 10:58 AM

The instruments are so beautiful. Sure, it's not epic length and it doesn't super emotional vocals, but I think it's amazing.

Electric Ocean 07-06-2005 11:00 AM

Also, where did you find Thursday covering that Sigur Ros song that you uploaded to the YSI thread in Alt/Indie? It was really cool, if a little strange.

cbmartinez 07-06-2005 11:50 AM

It's the bonus track on the Japanese version of War All The Time.

Wow 07-06-2005 12:15 PM

That title belongs to Woolworm (Angry Son) by Indian Summer.

cbmartinez 07-06-2005 12:18 PM

This is true. ATFTA is up there though.

Electric Ocean 07-06-2005 12:54 PM
That title belongs to Woolworm (Angry Son) by Indian Summer.
That song crossed my mind when I saw cb post about A Tale For The Ages, it's a really amazing song but I haven't heard anything else by them that comes anywhere close to matching it.

Oh yeah, thanks for that Rockets and Blue Lights stuff too, I've got my iPod working so I gave it a few listens earlier on today and it's some really cool stuff. Are they still around or have they split?

Wow 07-06-2005 12:58 PM

Yeah, Indian Summer never touched Woolworm's greatness in Science 1994, but all of the songs on it are ace, anyway. They have an unrecorded song that they played in a live video I have which is almost as good as Woolworm.

Rockets And Blue Lights split just last year I think. It's a shame.

Electric Ocean 07-06-2005 01:02 PM

Why do all these crazy emo bands always have to split so soon? :upset:
hahaha, very funny kid, now get out of here!

I think it's funny that the hype/promotion for those bands totally surpasses the quality of the music.

I thought you said that "Fool" (Still life) was the best song... :p
But Angry Son is defenitely one of the best emo-songs ever, although Scarification (Julia), Small (Still life) and Cuts like drugs (Hoover) also are competing for that title if you'd ask me.

I say everything is the best song ever. However, I am serious when it comes to Woolworm. The amount of emotion in the song just blows me away every time I hear it.
