kirk hammett owns dave mustaine
:chug:
Yeah, and Marty Friedman owns them both. What's your point? |
erm...it would have to be Adrian Smith, I dunno what it was about him...but he compelled me to pick a guitar and start making several guitar noises. Infinite Dreams was the song that made me start guitar (bass as well, I love the bass line :p).
Janicks solo on Blood brothers is surprisingly easy. But janicks delivery isn't too good, I think if adrian played it, it would sound 100 times better... (janick hasn't heard of vibrato, and adrian is the king of vibrato) Ash
. i first thought it was Dave who was playing that solo until i saw Rock in Rio, the feelings in it and the sound of it, and how its written sounded very Dave'ish... |
I think that Powerslave is an excellent album, I even find it better then Number of the Beast. Anyone agree?
Yeah. It's my third favorite behind SIT and SSOASS. To me, NOTB might even be a little overrated. |
Powerslave is the first maiden I had ever heard, it's what got me going on them. Then I found Rock in Rio, which of course made me fall in love Brave New World.
But since then, I'd have to say Somewhere in Time is my favorite. Adrian's awesome... not that the others aren't, they all rock, Adrian's just my favorite. |
Yep Adrian's my fave too, definatly my fave of the guitarists at least. He's just the lad.
|
adrian, too, is my fave... adrian with a lado earth on LAD, now THAT is what being a guitar legend is all about (or something... bleh)
|
Adrian owns simple enough, then Dave, then Janick...but there is something I don't like about Janicks playing tho...
|
Adrian is the best, with Dave closely following him. I don't think any Maiden fan will disagree, but hey, someone will prove me wrong!
|
Adrian for me!
|
Adrian = Page, Hendrix, or Clapton
Dave = Van Halen, Hammett, or Malmsteen Obviously these are huge overestimations: there's no way Kirk Hammett is better than Dave Murray. Ha ha ha! |
yeah, well, adrian is realy the fav, guitarist of mine, but janicks solo in blood brothers are the reason i wanna start myself :p
|
i'd say the order is adrian, dave then jannick too... and i think we can all agree stratton comes last.... poor dennis
|

Being an avid guitar (and bass) player, i easily find Adrian to be the most creative and well rounded of the three boys in Maiden. Janick's lead in blood brothers is fantastic, but his "wasting love" solo is my favourite by him. What also puts Adrian on such a high perch for me is his ability to write such incredible songs, something Dave contributes less to. Janick's strenth in the band is song/riff writing, not leads. While Adrian's strenth is in both lead playing and song writing, hes always been my favourite member of Iron Maiden and i can't stress enough how important he is to the bands sound/success. |
Steve is the most important one :p (then dave, then adrian)
|
ahh... 't has been awhile since ive been here... i got banned for some reason (i WAS zeppelin_rules_62)...i used to post in this thread LOADS but i'd just like to say that in that time i have come to realise that Iron Maiden are perhaps the biggest joke on the face of the earth... the guitarists are truly ABYSMAL and nicko mcbrain is really short a few chromosomes... their music is annoying and i can only stand the Di'Anno stuff and some Blaze... jesus Dickinson is an annoying buffoon...Harris is the only one with any talent... Priest are infinitely superior..............
There... my first post done |
Steve is the most important one :p (then dave, then adrian)
Steve yes, than id say Bruce and Adrian are following :thumb: |
Steve yes, than id say Bruce and Adrian are following :thumb:
well, i would put bruce behind dave, since maiden started to get known before bruce joined.. but yeah, bruce have had alot to say about Maiden later on.. |
i think jannick is least important - if jannick left, then they'd just get another guitarist or continue with two, but if nicko left i reckon they'd call it quits
|
I was listening to "From here to eternity" earlier on today and I thought I heard 'Charlotte'. So I got the little booklet thing and in the lyrics it says:
"The beast and Charlotte they were two of a kind" could this be another song about charlotte the harlot? Ash |
who here has seen iron maiden live, if not oyu must go see them whenever you can!! they a amazing!!
|
nicko is first
|
ashman: yes it is..
|
There are 4 songs about Charlotte... each more appaling than the last... thanks for that quadrilogy of ****e, Dave Murray...

i agree with that. Davey has been there since day one. I look at it like, where would the band be without a certain member. Musically his solos are fantastic and vital to the sound, but his contributions to writing songs has always been very limited, where Bruce is not only the voice that gained them a whole new audience over Paul's, but he has penned many of the bands most ledgenadry tracks. |
Bruce has become associated with Maiden, through and through. For me, at least, it wouldn't be them without him...I still haven't gotten the Blaze albums nor Killers, b/c I can't picture Maiden without Bruce. Maybe it's b/c I got into them late in the game, but...I find it hard to listen to them without Bruce and Nicko (well, I'm a drummer and Nicko's a huge inspiration for me).

They wasn't all written by dave. From here to eternity was written by Steve, Hooks in you was written by Adrian and I can't be bothered to find out who wrote 22 acacia avenue. I think from here to eternity is really good, and very catchy...so stop yer yapping |
Hey,you guys might think I'm stupid or something but I never really heard Iron Maiden,is there any song suggestions you can give to me?Like with guitar solos or something?Because like everyone at my school wears Iron Maiden shirts.

get the 'number of the beast album' it is brilliant or do what i did and get 'rock in rio' first because that is one of the best live cds ive ever heared |
Getting into Iron Maiden because everyone at your school wears their shirts is not a good reason. You don't want to become a Maiden poser.
