James - he is the man, an awesome song writer and a great role model to me. He has gone through some awful times and whenever i feel bad he's one of the people i think of to perk me up.
|
Did the new bassist have some sort of accident and they had to postpone some tour dates or is my radio station playing a mean april fools joke on me??
|
It's a toss up for me between Cliff and James.
Cliff inspired me to play bass, which I love alot and plan on going very far with. And James is Metallica, my favorite band. |
has to be cliff he was just an amazing bassist :thumb:

Members of the Swedish METALLICA forum Metallica.nu have joined forces in launching a project that they hope will result in a stone being erected in the memory of former bass player of METALLICA, Cliff Burton, who died in a bus accident just outside Ljungby, Sweden in 1986.
"Everyone that we have spoken to [is] positive to this project and wants to support us as much as they can," reads a post on the project's web site. "For example Aftonbladet (the leading newspaper in Sweden). "After some research that we have done we've heard that this project has been 'up on the carpet' before, but for some reason have not come to a conclusion." check out the site here http://www.metallica.nu/cliff/ looks good r.i.p. cliff burton |
Answer My ****ing Question You Rusty Nerds!! Newbie! Ill Get Kyle To Newbie Dance You!

^^^I dont know!!!
For me James and kirk are tied because kirk is the reason I play guitar today and james, well, james Is the ****in Metallica! |
i'd say james and lars, lars inspires me to play drums, his drums in ajfa are just ****in great and james is metallica his lyrics were so great back in the day and so was his voice and his riffs
|
Who is your favourite member of Metallica? (this can include past and present if you wish)
James. He writes great lyrics, good riffs, and his "YEAH" is ownage |
James.
|
I'd say James because learning all his riffs has made me such a better guitarist.
|
id say cliff even though im a guitar player, hes so much cooler than any other bass player stylistically. like hes not better than john myung but his musics way cooler
and there would be no riffs by james if it werent for cliff |
there riffs are so insane. That the only thing my Metallica I can play on guitar and its Ender Sandman.
|
Cliff. Him, Lemmy, and Geddy Lee changed the way people think about bass. Also, it's widely regarded by Jaymz/Lars/Kirk that Cliff really brought a very "musical" elemnt to the band and taught them much about classical music and composition. without this knowlege, Metallica would be just another ****ty thrash band, and not the GREATEST ****ING BAND IN THE WORLD!!!! :D
|
James, 'cause he has the coolest guitar
|
Hey guys. What's new?
Metallica ay... *looks at watch* Well see ya in another thousand posts. |
hey spiral do you hate me too? :naughty:
|
Only when you suck in bed.
|
James. He writes great lyrics, good riffs, and his "YEAH" is ownage
What about his "Oooooooh"? |
His "wooooahhwoa" I hate that
|
i was wondering did metallica ever played live eye of the beholder, the frayed ends of sanity, disposable heroes and the shortest straw?
|
I know they did play The Frayed Ends of Sanity in a justice medley once.
|
Yea in the justice medley they played a bit of Frayed Ends and Eye of the Beholder, but i dont think they played the whole songs live before
|
My fave Metallica member was Jason Newsted, there was summin about him that inspired me (bass) and i thought he was an awesome rocker, but if we're talking about the present, I'd say Kirk, he is cool.
Thats not to say James and Lars aren't |
How many people think having rob in metallica is a good thing? How do you think it would influence the songwriting of a future album.(If there is any, but so far it seems so).

Godd thing. Personaly i prefer him of Jason ( stupid goblin features ), he seems alot better to me and has that kind of attitude that give Metallica a great stage image and presence. I think in terms of writing he's gonna try and take them back towards what they were; he's into old school music - punk/hardcore/thrash, so it'll be interesting seeing what he'll do for them. Good news hearing about them *writing* new suff already though. :) |
Has any thread ever reached 100 pages? Quick, let's get this thread to 100 pages!
