I love the Melvins.

Sleepy 11-01-2006 07:20 PM

I downloaded Senile Animal, I still need to get around to listening to it.

magicbus 11-01-2006 07:31 PM

Cool. Yea I'm diggin' the Melvins, the new one is pretty cool.

I'll have to check it out then. If they're anything at all like Spiritual Beggars I'll probably love it.

pate 11-02-2006 01:01 AM

Spiritual Beggars is killer.

AlienEater 11-02-2006 11:27 AM

They're pretty cool.

Bartender 11-02-2006 12:42 PM

They* don't sound much like Melvins, though.

EDIT for accuracy: *that one Spiritual Beggars song I heard some four years ago.

pate 11-02-2006 12:46 PM

Right. They're better than the Melvins. :p

AlienEater 11-02-2006 12:48 PM

Hell no!

pate 11-02-2006 12:50 PM

I'm not too big on the Melvins.

AlienEater 11-02-2006 01:05 PM

I guess I am.

Sleepy 11-02-2006 06:02 PM
Right. They're better than the Melvins. :p
Blasphemy!

Although Spiritual Beggars are quite good, The Melvins are gods of the genre.

I was listening to Kyuss all through one of my tech classes today. The program I wrote acted as if it was completely stoned in consequence.

Nuke Broadcast 11-02-2006 09:53 PM

so i just found this wonderful band by the name of Zebulon Pike. methinks you fellows should locate songs by this group.

I'll start browsing.

Zebulon Pike was the name of an American frontiersman in the 19th century. Fact.

Apocalyptic Raids 11-03-2006 03:57 AM

Oversoul, anyone?

AlienEater 11-05-2006 06:11 PM

So, uh, what's the deal with that stoner rock?

pate 11-05-2006 06:13 PM

I'm almost done listening to Wall of Sleep "Sun Faces Apostles" It's really good.

niobium 11-05-2006 06:26 PM

I should buy Clearing the Eye. It's sitting in a store a mile away right now.

My last downloaded stoner albums are Kyuss - ...And the Circus Leaves Town and The Sword - Age of Winters.

Two very good albums.

Does anyone have any Giant Squid I can steal from them? I heard them on Sirius a few days ago and haven't been able to find an upload anywhere.

Freezing Moon 11-05-2006 08:19 PM

I'm listening to Winter right now. They're great.

Danger Bird 11-05-2006 09:35 PM

After listening to Kyuss's Blues for the Red Sun a few times, I've decided I like Kyuss, but their singer is a little annoying.

Yeah, they're great.

niobium 11-05-2006 09:40 PM

I don't like John Garcia sometimes either. It's best when he lets the band jam for extended hours (see: Desert Sessions)

Yes please! Great band - I love em!

Just got back from the Belgium Doom Night - I don't feel too good!

Bands of the night for me were Semlah, The River (who played fantastically) and The Gates of Slumber. Mirror of Deception were also excellent, as were Reverend Bizarre.

superpeer 11-06-2006 06:13 AM
Ghent. At The Frontline.
Ah yes. /late

I don't live there, though I've gone there for concerts, I think.

Belgium doom \m/

I'm extremely jealous. :-\

That sounds like one hell of a concert.

Txus 11-06-2006 10:12 AM

Reverend Bizarre + The Gates of Slumber = My current favorite Doom bands. What a bastard

I've been meaning to buy something by them. They seem good.

Apocalyptic Raids 11-06-2006 11:33 PM

I've been meaning to check out Semlah. I know a guy on DC++ who has some of their stuff, but I keep forgetting to get it.

the2stranger 11-07-2006 12:53 PM

So I'm listening to Lamented Souls.
Gotta love Simen's vocals.
Great music.
Very good stuff!
