Holy crap I just got the graphic novel from Hot Topic and it is sooooo sweet I'm going to start reading it soon. I'm so pumped the guy at Hot Topic said he is half way through and it is like the most confusing thing he has ever read.
|
I'm still thinking about checking out the graphic novel, but I'm not sure if I want to buy it or not. It does look cool though.
|
It is really cool and I thought it was going to be 20 bucks and it turned out to be only llike 16 like that so I got a good deal.
|
I wish I had the comics/graphic novel. Damn you hot topic, come to Canada. Only with comics though. None of your scene fag attracting clothes.
|
I get so much of my shirts at hot topic haha. The comic is so confusing I'm so lost I'm going to read it like 50 times I'm like halfway through. Very confusing. Just order it offline Brandon.
|
I need to find a comic shop first. Unless I order it from interpunk or something similar.. if they even have them.
|
Eh, I understand the comic. I just want to know what happened to Newo, thats all that I'm confused about in the entire Coheed story.
|
Well its weird because in the novel they have talked about Newo once. Claudio says something like "Why is Erica in Newo's place" and all I know is that Claudio left her after A Favor House Atlantic. He is taking her back from Al or where she was and some people say The Light and the Glass is a letter from Claudio to Newo but I'm not sure. Thats where Newo is right now before Good Apollo and Im not sure of her place in Good Apollo. In Apollo I "I'm spying on you Newo" I'm not sure what that means. But I think that Erica is a bigger part in Good Apollo and I am not sure who she is entirely.
Are you saying you aren't confused about anything else in the enitre Coheed story. Thats hard to believe. |

Newo stands for the cheating aspect of Erica, and Ambelina stands for the love aspect. Since the writer feels both of these in his real life relations, he chooses to express it like this. Ten Speed tells the writer to kill off Ambelina, to unleash the Crowing in Claudio. Aka, kill off the aspect of love in the Writer's life, so he can get over his cheating girlfriend. I hope that cleared up anything. |
I thought "Ten Speed" was about a bike?
|
Ya but it is like an alive bike its like a demon. Wait but like your telling it now Newo was never a real person she was just a part of someone, Erica Court.

No no no. Metaphors dude. The Writing Writer (aka god), uses situations in his real life as characters in the story. "God's" girlfriend Erica Court cheated on him, so he made Newo cheat on Claudio in the story. He still loves her, so he made Claudio love Ambelina in the story. The Writer's life is becoming hectic and insane, so Ten Speed encourages him to kill off Ambelina in the story, therefore making it shorter, and the sooner the story ends, the sooner the Writer can relax and live a normal life. Also, with the killing of Ambelina, Ten Speed tells him that he will get over Erica (aka his girlfriend). |
Ha, that makes perfect sense. Thanks a lot, nig.

I got all of my info from cobaltandcalcium.com and decoding the novel by myself. What green messed up dude? At the beginning, the zombie-like ones? |
Really, I haven't been reading Cobalt much lately I need to again, but I do think Claudio knows about Erica. In the novel he says "Ahhh Erica how I would love to have you, so why can't I stop hating you" and then not the zombies but the green guy who is dragging that girl around by the neck who I believe is Erica and is saying Welcome Home and Why Aren't you laughing now? And he kicks the girl in the hole and he says he can only end his pain with the commencment of her suffering....Is that what the Suffering is Erica Suffering I'm so lost haha but your helping so much thanks.

Where does Claudio say that about Erica? And I have no idea about that guy, I think it's supposed to be the writer, imagining himself killing Erica. |
Do you have the novel?

Haha ya that is what I was thinking too. But do you know what I am talking about when Claudio says that about Erica.

Nope. Around what page/event in the story. |
Alright its towards the beginning page 18 and thats if I am counting like two pages each turn like I am counting every single page but its right after Chase is talking about him about understanding that he is The Crowing also I think that is The Writer cause in the beginning its like shows him and his face looks like it. So are you saying that the Writer is like the God of the keywork and of the entire world. That just is kinda screwin me up.
So God creates this story of these people and its almost like during the novel its a story of Claudio, and god, The Writer. |
If you read the first comic when its explaining the back story it says something about someone whos only known as "God" who created the whole universe and he was this mysterious being. Thats the writer that this new album is about.

Basically there's this guy (The Writer, God) writing the story of Coheed and Cambria. His real-life events effect the story of Coheed and Cambria. About the Newo part, look at the top of the page after the part with Chase. It says New York City. The story has now turned over to the Writer, and it shows him missing Erica. Its the Writer not Claudio at that part. |

Ya I know I read that and stuff but like ahhhh its confusing me how in this album they are almost treating him like a real human and stuff and its like he isnt supposed to be living amongst these people I thought. |

OOOOOOO MY GOD so its like Coheed and Cambria in reality is just a story and the human (God) is just writing this story of them. |
Exactly.
