OK, srsly, I'm loving this. Jose is [I]beyond[/I] tight. And Mike plus Ben equals man secks in the musical, non-man secks sense. The album is also really coherent... None of this "concept album" pretentiousness or anything, but there are loads of little motifs that appear in multiple songs, and everything flows really well. The lyrics are great.

My issues with the album thus far:
1) Too much love song-ness.
2) Too little Kilmore.

yeah they got more love songs now but i guess its them gettin older and its what they really lacked before. i loved Crow and i love this album. and Kilmore has his areas...you just gotta listen for them.

i cant pick a favorite just yet..give me a week haha

I'm really liking the thrashyness of a lot of the songs... Like Light Grenades, Rogues and Pendulous Threads. It's all like jarring, percussive, metallic guitar against cymbal- and snare-heavy beats.

I must say, Mike's tone on this album is gorgeous.

Quicksand, Dig, Earth to Bella (1&2) and Pendulous Threads are probably my faves for the moment.

Anna Molly, Paper shoes and A Kiss To Send You Off are probably my favourites at the moment.

I've loved every Incubus album up till now. ACLOTM took me a while to get into (Megalomaniac, I hated at first but now is one of my favourite songs on the album. Same with Pistola.) so I'm hoping it's the same with this album.

Or maybe I'm just too spoiled these days with great music from other bands like RX Bandits.

Nah, my first impression is it's not very good at all. Anna Molly is one of the worst songs they've ever put out. And A Kiss to Send Us Off sounds like Make Yourself recycled and watered down.

I'm not passing judgement yet, as it sometimes takes me quite a while to get into an album, but my first impression is that Incubus is running out of ideas, particularly Brandon and Mike.

I just got done listening to Light Grenades, I feel this is a album that has to grow on you. I'm not all that impressed by it, but i really like a few songs. Mike has outdone himself on guitar, simply amazing. It's basically ACLOTM, but a little more experimental? I'm not making a final judgement just yet on the album, give me a week and i'll have one. I dig it though!

i listened to the album all of yesterday to get used to it, and it did definitely grow on me.

He's singing "both." He's saying Anna Molly but saying it like anomaly, showing that she's an anomaly I guess.

Does a part of Pendulous Threads sound like a Crow Left of the Murder song to anyone else? I can't figure out which one though =/.

the last section with vocals reminds me of part of drunkship of lanterns by the mars volta, but i don't hear any ACLOTM
