This is the beginners path to Floyd: DSOTM, then The Wall, then perhaps Meddle, or Animals.

From there, you can pick your own path, though checking out PULSE or Delicate Sound Of Thunder (Live Albums) could not do any harm.

Hmmm i would say Wish You Were Here after The Wall...and THEN perhaps Meddle or Animals.

Such a great album won't stay elitist for long, especially with PF becomming "trendy". I've already seens WYWH shirts in Hot Topic.

Seems like the Floyd has been trendy for some time now. My younger sister has a PF shirt but can't name one song or album by them, same with her friends.

dont know if this has been covered yet but has anyone seen the video of Syd when he first tripped on drugs? I downloaded it (around 5min 30sec i belive) and it is very odd with the strange little electronic music they put to it. and i wanted to know if i have the whole thing or if i just got a clip.

No clue about the Syd tape. And, WYWH won't remain an elitist favorite for long, but you can rest assured that you're still a Pink Floyd elitist.

Yea, that tape is called "Syd's First Trip". You can actually buy the DVD from places, but I wouldn't suggest it wasting your money. It's actually not his first trip, and he is on the magical shrooms.

It's weird how Floyd is kind of trendy. I have a Floyd shirt and I wear it to school all the time, but I don't think I will anymore. It seems everyday I see like 5 Dark Side t-shirts or sweaters. It's not really a bad thing, but I'm thinking the other people know nothing about Floyd. Meh.

Yeah, lots of Dark Side T-shirts in my school too.

I have one too, but I rarely wear it.

I saw it on the Story of Syd Barret DVD . He put like hashbrowns on his eyes.:lol:

it is sad how people dont know anything more than DSOTM or The Wall (sometimes they dont know crap about those but say the love them). and almost nobody knows about Syd either. i was talking about Floyd with my friend and he likes Floyd but isnt a Floyd "eliteist" and he knows about Syd. and everybody else i talk to about floyd dosent even know who Syd is and a lot dont even know Floyd has records before DSOTM.

Today some in my class thought Bike was a Beatles song.:lol: Then I had to explain the whole Syd Barret story to all the people around me because nobody knew who he was.

i know ive had kids try to convince me that [B]I[/B] was wrong when i said syd was in the band. to be honest i really dont see how anybody could say dark side of the moon is their best unless they really listen to them

I've been getting into Pink Floyd for the past couple months. At first I didn't really like them (now I can't figure out why not), but I changed my mind. The only record I have is DSOTM right now (it's my dad's). My favorite PF song right now is probably Brain Damage, but that might change when I hear some more.

wow thats exactly how it happened with me. over the next few months they became my fav band. cheak out their cd wish you were here. its a good start after dark side of the moon

A guy I know from school burned me a bunch of CDs from a Pink Floyd box set, so I have quite a bit of PF. The problem is that I don't know what songs go to which albums. I was planning on looking that up tonight or tomorrow though.
