What are the chances of tool being at download people?
Oh and AJIG <3 for the nomination in 100 best...my only 1 :upset: |
Sinc eim using the built in effects with the Marshall MG30DFX, cant help too much, my setting is about a 1/3 of the way round on the dial. I tend to use the same amount for the intro riff as for the solo.
The way i play it is Intro : ON Muted part: Off Chours: OFF Solo: ON Rest Of Song: OFF |

Oh and AJIG <3 for the nomination in 100 best...my only 1 :upset:
You needed it, as i can now say i was the first nomination in that thread :thumb: Chances at being at download, 50/50. Although all my hopes rest on it. They havent played Donnington for 3 years now. not that it means anything, but really, they could be a front runner for headliner. Who else would really headline it? |
SOAD? Mudvayne?
That is my wish anyway. I will actually be able to go this year, i think AS' are earlier than GCSE's...No science exam getting in the way of my festival this year! |
SOAD maybe. Mudvayne, no. They didnt do too well in 2003 when they played the 2pm slot.
I just hope the lne up is better in general this year. Last year had some amazing bands, and then lots of crappy filler. Least the Game On stage was consistent. I went during my AS levels and A levels, and got lucky with the timing for both |
Slayer = crappy filler :lol:
My plan would be to go see a band i like...then take a trip to the toilet, before downing a few beers, and making my way to the next band hehe |
There is a good amount to see at Download normally. Last year we had the Game On skate bowl (mild amusement).
2003 we had the Lesbian R rated show on top of a Knight Rider style car, which 'made' us miss Sepeltura. But if tool went, i would spend all weekend sitting down awaiting their sunday evening headlining set. |
Quick question:
I'm gonna write a CD for a friend who says hes interested in hearing some Tool. What should I put on a standard 700MB CD, I only have access to Aenima, Lateralus and the tracks Sober, Undertow and Opiate. Thanks guys, Fallen Angel |
All of what you have acess to...burn it as a data cd..
|
hmmm...
I think Eulogy is about people standing up over everyone, with a voice so high and a meaning so strong, that he affects the weaker crowd to follow him and his opinion..
which could be L. Ron Hubbard, tool even talks about their dislike of him in Ænema "**** L Ron Hubbard and **** all his clones." |
hahaha yea, I just thought of that. I was actually coming back here to delete my post and tell everyone to vote for the Iron Maiden song hahaha.
GO VOTE MAIDEN! http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=273938 |

GO VOTE MAIDEN! http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=273938
Ken is the any way you can send me any recordings of you're band? Espicially if you have one of your tool covers. :D |
Any one know when new tool cd's comin?????????????????
|
Ken, unless you edit the poll, I'm afraid it looks like that song's out now. ;)
Anyway...if there's only one Tool song in the final 10, that's got a better chance of going through, right? All the Metallica, Maiden and Floyd fans are going to be REALLY split on which song to vote for.
yeah, that's true... I know where my vote's going. |

If he's into more progressive stuff then give him Lateralus, either works in my experience. |
That was my logic on that poll. I voted Parabola, did you?
|
yep

Really? I missed that reference. Good for them, I hate Scientology...bunch of ****in' wackos IMO, and I generally tend to be pretty open minded towards New Religious Movements. |

.......watch the weather change.........
Third Eye is one of Tool's earlier epic songs. One of the top 3 songs on Aenima. I love the effects in it, and the lyrics are fantastic as usual with Tool. Underrated song, or maybe just overlooked at times. |

Sure did. :thumb: |
What would be a good first album from them??

I overlooked Third Eye for quite sometime. Mainly because of its length. But I just recently realized how great that song is. Its amazing. |
I absolutely love everything Tool does, they are one of the most creative, eminent, stupendous, and well, just plain awesome bands ever. Maynard is a living legend, I'm in love with him you could say. "Third Eye" is a outstanding song, the way it's put together is perfect, he begining, the lovely way he sings, "so good to see you once again....", all the way up to the ending with "PRYING OPEN MY THIRD EYE!" One of my favorite songs by Tool would have to be "Reflection", the music, his voice, and the words he sings are all so beautifully melancholy.
And to restate the question posted by mIKE, does anyone know exactally when the new Tool dc will be coming out....i heard sometime around the end of December....i hope soon! -Brookey |
i think eulogy was written about someones pointless life, and all the empty words that this man said. It sounds like a person speaking, well, someones eulogy, and saying how useless their life was but that they were still gonna miss him. Sounds like the guy used to be a preacher of some kind, using the fire and brimstone approach, blaming everybody for their mistakes, but not mentioning his own....
hmmm... I think Eulogy is about people standing up over everyone, with a voice so high and a meaning so strong, that he affects the weaker crowd to follow him and his opinion..
|
third eye is grand, but i favor the live version on salival just a little more. the only thing that would have added to the live version that i feel i was a little disappointed was at the end where maynard says ,"prying open my third eye", he didn't continue it over and over like he did the the studio version. otherwise the live > studio (but just by a little bit)
|
I would have to agree, i usually favor live versions of songs...they seem to have much more spirit and energy. "Maynard's Dick" is such an awesome song at the end of "Salival" Maynard's voice in that song is absolutely breathtaking...its so very different, but then again Tool is never predictable. Who knows what their new cd will be like...i'm sure it will be wonderful. I can't wait till it comes out....can you??
|
