Everyone better watch what they say about Nightwish in front of the fanboy. :D
She speaks the truth. :)

I'm mad that Symphony X only gets 30 minutes at Gigantour...

They should have given them one of the longer time slots.

VeedBok 08-05-2005 05:45 PM

WHAT thats bull**** only 30 minutes that sucks, plus they got cheaped out and are playing on second stage which also sucks.

Hells Bells 08-05-2005 05:57 PM

30 minutes?????? That does suck.
Well, at least I get to see them live. I would much rather see them on first stage than Fear Factory, but that's my opinion.

That's what i was thinking...or they replace one of the other bands on the main stage.

Who else is on the main stage besides FF, DT and Megadeth?

Nevermore, and I don't mind that at all :D

MarkOsullivan 08-05-2005 06:38 PM

Hey dudes. Just wanna say this site has introduced me to so many bands I would never had heard of if I hadn't come to this site.
So Cheers!

Any way could someone recommend me some good Power Metal songs?

I have stuff bt Dragonforce and Freedom Call so any moe songs would be great. Especially some Dream Evil. I have 'Chasing the Dragon' and 'Book Of heavy Metal' so any more would be great.

Shattered_Future 08-05-2005 06:40 PM
Nevermore, and I don't mind that at all :D
Nevermore deserves main stage.

For he who wanted power metal:

Nightwish
Blind Guardian
Angra
Sonata Arctica
Dungeon
Helloween
Iced Earth

That's a pretty good introduction.

bball_1523 08-05-2005 06:48 PM
People compare them because they're the two biggest progressive metal acts, most likely. They don't sound identical, but I would still say they have compareable sounds.
the only thing comparable imo is the instruments they use, because they both have the same type of instruments: singing vocals, guitar, bass, keyboards, and drums.

Everything else is a matter of opinion, and symphony is more progressive power metal and more metal than DT, while DT is more progressive rock/metal, and moreso on the rock side. Both are great bands though, it's just a matter of opinion on how you compare them.

The show I'm going to is everything the same, but instead of DT, I get to see Anthrax. And I prefer that much more :D

(the ruins of eden act 2, for those who dont get spanish :p)
haha, not bad, not bad! It's just weird to hear non english lyrics and the spanish accent (especially the "r") makes it really cheesy! Certainly fun to listen, pretty good percussion work and crystal clear production as well. Thanks for the upload!

Stoic 08-06-2005 03:29 PM

this is not tr00 at all. Where's the long hair, the lethal clothing, sword and axe?

And please tell me you're not wearing a COF T-shirt...

:p

The second one is much better! What the hell do you have in your mouth?

Shattered_Future 08-06-2005 03:31 PM

Dude, those traffic cones are dangerous, remember? You can beat somebody to death with one of those in like 50 days.

Brew 08-06-2005 03:33 PM

/me strikes ''real-ish'' pose

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v196/Lord_Brummington/Camping%205th%20August%202005/DSCF0494.jpg

I think I was eating a cake thing called Rocky Road, its like...chocolate and biscuit with marshmallows that taste like cardboard :)

And yes, it is a COF hoody that I've had for about 3 years.

Note: I'd just finished off a king-size joint in that picture.

Stoic 08-06-2005 03:36 PM

tr00er, saw the hair!...is the bike your horse and the cone your axe?

fuck it absolutely sucks when you stop listening to a band and you still have the T-shirt. I go out wearing a slayer one :upset:

Brew 08-06-2005 03:40 PM

I still listen to COF though, I saw them in March and might be seeing them again in December :)

/awaits flames

The bike was really crappy and took quite a beating but was still ride-able which was fun.

http://photobucket.com/albums/v196/Lord_Brummington/Camping%205th%20August%202005/

All the pictures from last nights madness.

Shattered_Future 08-06-2005 03:41 PM

Nothing wrong with COF...bit irritating at times though.

Stoic 08-06-2005 03:46 PM

 fucking crazy red eyed guys!

So there are 4 of you right? Are you all metalheads?

Hells Bells 08-06-2005 03:48 PM

I never got into CoF, I didn't hear anything too good about them.

Brew 08-06-2005 03:48 PM

Out of the 4 of us, I'm the biggest metalhead and most open minded with music, Humpey (checkered shorts) is very similar, Bo is more of a classic rocker/classic punk and Jamie is in between.

It was really hard taking photos in pitch black just waving a camera around and hoping for the best.

Edit: We were camping in some woods and we had Dungeon blasting out of some speakers really loud at one point :)

Stoic 08-06-2005 03:50 PM

convert them

Anyways, nice friends you have! :)

/goodnight!

I still have a Pennywise shirt, that's how far I go back :(

Seems like a fun/interesting night you had there Brum :)

Brew 08-06-2005 04:00 PM

It was madness for a few hours with the bike. Also the first time I'd been caned for quite a few months which was fun.

Everyone seemed to like Dungeon when it was playing in the tent, and I did a copy of Ensiferum's Iron for Humpey the other day.

Hopefully I won't be the only power-metal head in my group of friends for much longer!

Lord Abortion 08-06-2005 04:28 PM

man... you could have got a better COF hoodie than that one...

king size joint++

Brew 08-07-2005 08:12 AM

True, but it was either that one or a red one which didn't really look that good.

CaptainWaits 08-08-2005 02:57 PM

I listened to the "Demons and Wizards" Self-Titled yesterday. I was dissapointed. I was expecting it to be much more interesting and better. They deffinetly sound more like Iced Earth (seeing as how Hansi only does Vocals), but they don't compare to either Iced Earth or Blind Guardian.

Stoic 08-08-2005 03:09 PM

yeh it doesnt impress me either. I prefer Blind Guardian (obviously) which by the way have lots of folk influences

IheartSP 08-08-2005 03:12 PM

I've heard 2 Demons and Wizards songs, Blood On My Hands and Terror Train. I thought it was a **** cool mix, but BG is still better.

Stoic 08-08-2005 03:14 PM

last rumor I heard: new BG single to be release in February!

CaptainWaits 08-08-2005 03:23 PM
last rumor I heard: new BG single to be release in February!
I hear they have an album coming out in April of next year :thumb:
yeh it doesnt impress me either. I prefer Blind Guardian (obviously) which by the way have lots of folk influences
Now wonder I am very fond of BG
