^Perhaps, he let them use it, and perhaps their is a slight difference.

hahah who was it that got sued for plagerising his own material. ****it i can't think of his name, CCR, and then he wrote something that sounded too much like one of the songs he wrote in CCR and they tried to sue him. :lol:If only I wasn't so tired.EDIT: I remember the first song was run through the jungle....
|
John Fogarty?
|
Ya I think that's it.
|
Ha that's gotta suck.
|
That reminds me of how Michael Jackson bought the rights to all The Beatles songs and Paul McCartney got pissed cuz he wanted to buy them back. Also I agree Van Halen is an awsome band and Eddie Van Halen is definitely one of the best guitarists. I've been learning some of his songs that involve the finger tapping and stuff. I hope to see them in concert soon, but I think David Lee Roth was a much better singer, songwriter, and performer than Sammy Hagar but oh well.
|
I don't know anyone who likes Sammy Hagar more than DLR.
|
I don't know anyone who likes Sammy Hagar more than DLR.
Yeah me either David Lee Roth was way better I think. There isn't really much of the songs with Sammy Hagar that I liked too much. |
I don't know anyone who likes Sammy Hagar more than DLR.
I do, but with Van Halen I like DLR more. Sammy had a much better voice, tons of range and power. Plus he can play guitar pretty good. |
I think rock and metal should be in separate forums because of classic rock. BTW, there's a reason why classic rock is coming back. It kicks ***!! Best genre ever.................
|
The Best Genre - Rock that combines with other genres.
Classic Rock does that, and that's why it's good. |
OLd stuff rocks
i like all of the old stuff especisally ccr and led
if yu want to see a new band thats got kindof a classic feel is the vines they have some classic styling |
The Vines = Not even close to CCR. CCR play a Country like Rock. Vines aren't even close.

bump
Wtf, I should never have to bump! This is one of the longest running threads on this board. It should always be on the front page! Now back to work! *Starts laying bricks* |
Erm. Ah. Classic rock isth teh hxc. i is liking bands like Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin and a lot more. but how comth no one here mentioneth Guns and Roses, They be teh most rocking classix rock band ever.
Bah. If i didnt do it, so other person would have. Oh yea, and about playing classic rock in school, Me and my frined are gonna do an performance in school, just an instrumental, but with typical CR type riffs, i was at his place for 6 hours working on it, its gonna be mad. DVG. |
w00t, i is teh love classic rock!!!!!!1!!111!!!!!!!
In all serious, I am glad classic rock was the music I started with, none of that punk pop nonsence,I started on the more mainstream stuff (zep, floyd) , not to say they are bad but I am glad I delved deeper into the classic rock treasure trove, for I found all sorts of new golden nuggets there (oh so cheesy). Also classic rock is a very undefined genre, as classic rock bands/musicians could take all different influences and styles yet still be counted as classic rock. No matter how much you love classic rock , you should always be wary to acting like an elitist, and putting modern bands down, saying "everything around these days is ****", for this is stupid as most people who say this weren't alive to experience the original classic rock boom, people never seem to catch on to the fact that there was crap one hit wonders in the 60s , 70s and 80s. (very cliche but) peace out, rock on :thumb: ......... :upset: |
Yea I was dissapointed that Sammy Hagar would be touring with VH, not David Lee Roth, but at least I still got to see Eddie.

I've noticed something in modern rock. There's no synthesizer. This is probably because these new rock dudes think that they are to "hardcore" to use a synth... If they listen to Deep Purple's synth, they'd like bow down and stuff. I think that the synth is awesome, and it shouldn't be incorporated into dance music, because it's too awesome. (Even though I am a bassist :D ) But, they actually may not want to do that because it seems that classic rock bands seem to be the only ones to use the synth effectively and not make it sound like science fiction dogshit

Depends what genre your're looking at... Black Metal bands use them quite extensively. Alot of modern bands use organs for that classic sound. Don't hate on dance music either. Alot of talented composers produce that stuff. |

Yeah I quite enjoy some synth. like I wouldn't want it in every song but t's certainly a plus. Dance music is just stupid in my opinon. If I want to dance i'll put on some grateful dead or something. |

Arg, don't be so closed minded dude! Open mindedness is one of the things I like about this thread. Alot of "dance" music trakcs are incredible melodic compositions. Alot of dance music is shyte too, its all a matter of the right artists. Alot of artists combine them well too (cough cough...Primal Scream...) |
Primal Scream, I find, are so underrated by so many people, although I think Screamadelica (sp?) was one of the best albums of the '90s. They're one of these wierd bands that you can't really put into a genre, which makes a nice change.
I absolutely agree. When I listen to their discography, theres such a vast variance in sound, recording technique, etc. I love it. I'm glad Mani Mounfield joined on bass after the Stone Roses broke up, b/c hes wicked. Heh, never mind being underrated, half I time I say "primal scream," people reply "who?". It's sad :( |
Arg, don't be so closed minded dude! Open mindedness is one of the things I like about this thread.
Think of it this way, you're telling someone not be so close minded about a genre that has really no right to be in this topic. Which is Classic Rock. So, unless he is close minded about Classic Rock, which he isn't, it is irrelevant. I hate when people think it's stupid for someone to hate a genre when they haven't heard everything from it. It is quite obvious that he hates Dance music in genre. Can he really help it? So, most Dance music you actually play for him, will not attact him. So, unless he hasn't heard anything, then he shouldn't judge. And knowing him for quite awhile now, I can tell you that he's not the quickest to judge. |
I want to get an old analoge Moog synth.

Hating a genre for not hearing everything is not stupid, but hating a genre for only hearing a little bit is. Maybe I made the assumption that he hasn't heard enough. Same way I do when I hear people say "I hate metal" when all they've heard is Linkin Park and Slipknot. Same principle. I'm just one who believes in expanding ones muscial tastes all the time. So despite the fact that it wasn't related to classic rock (as sometimes one single thread may not be...IE the chili peppers thread made a couple posts before mine) I merely thought I'd make the suggestion and let him sort it out for himself, if he was so inclined. I didn't name off a hundred dance music acts I like. The only reason I mentioned Primal Scream is because some of their stuff sounds like old Rolling Stones...to that effect. And they were re-creating classic sounds much better then any of these cheesy bands today, and they were doing it 10 years before and of the cheesy bands today. I'm not trying to sound or be hostile but your reply came off a little curt to me. I'm trying to simply incite discussion, is all. I like this thread and I don't want to see this thread turn into the Metallica one..."whats your favorite solo" on every page. |
were forgetting the greatest guitarist of all time Jimi Hendrix
|
There is no greatest. But I like Hendrix. I like Hendrix's songwriting, but I think Clapton at this point really edges him out.
