How long is it same a couple of seconds? lmao, out of billions of songs done on a guitar, you're bound to have some similarities in songs.

fatbandit 08-11-2005 11:03 AM

Yeah, like I noticed a Meagdeth riff sounded very similar to a Metallica one recently, but I think its more than likely a coincidence. Many songs sound the same :/

:smash:

Jev 08-11-2005 11:13 AM

FFF by Megadeth sounds quite a bit like Motorbreath.

fatbandit 08-11-2005 11:24 AM

I was thinking of a riff off of RIP, but I can't remember what riff or what song

Dave was probobly out of riffs so he was just like "eh, what the hell ill just steal a 'tallica riff, i mean didnt they steal mechanix?"

fatbandit 08-11-2005 11:36 AM

I think he has too much pride to steal a riff off of Metallica. I always get the impression that he never liked anything Metallica wrote, why would he steal a riff?

If it's Hangar 18 Dave wrote that riff anyway.
I'm not sure if there's any others but apprently Dawn Patrol sounds like the bass riff in My Friend of Misery. But it was written before the Black Album even came out.

Jev 08-11-2005 11:39 AM
Dave was probobly out of riffs so he was just like "eh, what the hell ill just steal a 'tallica riff, i mean didnt they steal mechanix?"
No he wrote The Mechanix so he had the right to use it as his own song.

fatbandit 08-11-2005 12:03 PM

Of 1 Blood meant that differently to how you interpreted it methinks.

Well, Hangar 18 doesn't actually share the same riff, just has the same chord progression methinks.

And no, Dawn Patrol doesn't sound like MFOM. Its bass centred, yes. That's it.

:smash:

Of 1 Blood 08-11-2005 12:05 PM

Hangar 18 doesnt sound like Motorbreath. Plus I can play both and they are nothing like the other.

I didn't say Hangar 18 sounds like Motorbreath, FFF does.

fatbandit 08-11-2005 12:20 PM

Hangar 18 is written with the same riffs/progression as Call of Ktulu, as it happens.

Oh  thats why I was kinda confused. FFF? Whats FFF?
Hangar 18 is written with the same riffs/progression as Call of Ktulu, as it happens.

Why do you do the hammer smiley at the end of evey single post?

(GWAR pwns)

IMMORTAL!

Jev 08-11-2005 12:23 PM

FFF is a Megadeth song on one of their later albums. It's about 3 minutes long and it stands for Fight For Freedom.

fatbandit 08-11-2005 12:25 PM

Dude, because its Hammertime?

And no, GWAR... don't... rule...

:smash:

Jev 08-11-2005 12:30 PM

Grandmaster Flash>MC Hammer

fatbandit 08-11-2005 12:34 PM

Its just my signature I suppose. Coined it in the Bass forum casual thread.

Alotta songs sound the same when we the "Power Chord"

fatbandit 08-11-2005 12:43 PM

The power chord can create a lot of variety to be fair. I found a lot of Justice to sound very similar, I have to say though.

:smash:

Britton 08-11-2005 12:48 PM

Yea that's what I found too

Britton 08-11-2005 09:56 PM

Hey where is everyone?

I got this video of Metallica in russia playing creeping death

anyone want it?

FlyingPaul_83 08-11-2005 09:58 PM

I got the unforgiven II video anyone want it?

MRDuCran 08-11-2005 10:03 PM
No he wrote The Mechanix so he had the right to use it as his own song.
The Mecanix was The Fourhorsemen before they changed the title (obviously) and the lyrics n guitar solo etc.

If it's good quality picture/sound, then yes, please.
I got the unforgiven II video anyone want it?
Is it a live performance video or just a normal video video? If it's live, then yes here too. :p

Chu 08-12-2005 12:42 AM
The Mecanix was The Fourhorsemen before they changed the title (obviously) and the lyrics n guitar solo etc.
Or it's the other way around? Dave wrote The Mechanix before joining Metallica (Well he had the lyrics for it I believe), Metallica helped him fix it up, and James and Lars worked on their version of his song, ultimately Dave got kicked out and Metallica released The Four Horsemen, Dave released The Mechanix.

Lyrical content and musical content The Four Horsemen > The Mechanix.

Po0sH 08-12-2005 12:44 AM

Metallicaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Chu 08-12-2005 12:47 AM

lol :)

Magero 08-12-2005 02:21 AM

Dude, I just had a listen. Hanger 18 and The call of Ktulu do have the same riff progression. It's just that Hanger is faster and distorted. And whoever said that FFF and Motorbreath sounded similar. Thet are. By the way i'm new.

Slapping Penguin 08-12-2005 02:36 AM

Its because Dave also wrote the Call of Ktulu.

I HATE LARS ULRICH HE RUINS METALLIC FOR ME. CAN HE PLAY SOFTLY AND NOT RUIN NICE SONGS CAN HE NOT HIT THE DRUMS SO BLOODY HARD!

I listen to Fade to Black and One etc and all you can hear is his clunking away BOOM! BOOM! KA!

That has something to do with drum microphones. If he wanted to play softer he would tur them down a bit but obviously not. It's never bothered me.
