TRITSIO is ATG's best I think. The vocals are pretty bad but they fall into place the more you listen to it. SOTS isn't bad either but it's pretty repetitive.

Yeah I agree. I used to like SOTS a lot more, but it's become incredibly boring. I'm still digging TRITSIO though, it has a lot more depth. |
WFIKTBD>TRITSIO, still has the technicality and spasticity but better songwriting; plus The Break of Autumn and Non-Divine are good candidates for ATG's best song. I haven't listened to SOTS in ages, so I don't really know what my opinion of it would be now. Used to love it when I was first getting into DM though.

im not writing WFUFUVEIAL
with fear i kiss the burning darkness is a little over technical - they try to fit in too many ideas in the 45 minute limit so ideas do not develop properly. the red>with fear |
The Red Sky is Ours is the only At the Gates I ever listen to, great album but the production is awkward sometimes.

So I checked out Arghoslent, Hornets of the Porgrom & Galloping Through the Battle Ruins, and I like it...real good stuff, but the only qualities I find they have in relation to death metal is the vocals and the occasional blast beating. The vocals are ok, but I feel they take away from the music (maybe that's because they're mixed higher). Other than that the music is great.

yeah they arent death metal

Sorry but someone whos' fav artists are Sonic Youth, Joanna Newsom, Wilco, and John Fahey, doesn't exactly make me feel confident in their death metal views.
