Me and Jason we discussing on MSN a minute ago that if it was better planned then yes it could have been devastating

I don't think that it was poor planning.
Well Tony Blair is flying back to London now
Yeah, but could you expect him to just ignore it? He'll be back there by tonight, most likely, having done his thing in and around London. My main point was that I wouldn't worry about any kind of further attack up in Scotland; the security around the G8 summit would be understandably incredibly high, and now ever moreso with these explosions. Even if they (whoever "they" is) had wanted to try something at the summit, they would have tried it before their initial attacks, wouldn't they? Otherwise all they've done is increase everybody's watchfulness around a target they wanted to hit, which is just a bit stupid.

Al Quaida say it has nothing to do with G8

clearvision 07-07-2005 06:53 AM

Depends what their aim was, they have messed up the whole infrastructure + dropped the stock market worldwide...

But if they wanted to kill people, half an hour earlier would have doubled the amount of casualties...Also, the attack on the bus was rather strange, hitting all the main underground stations, then a bus???

I don't think they'll try and hit the G8 summit. That would just be foolish.
However there are many other targets which, now that I think about it, would be ridiculously easy to hit.
Not poor, just could have been better
If they wanted to do more damage then they could have easily, I think.
The fact that they didn't shows restraint on their behalf. Possibly.

Refl...They're removing all of the bins from the centre of Edinburgh.

I don't think it was even bad planning, though. In a nutshell - they want(ed) to disrupt the transport systems in London, not kill people. Think about it; sneaking enough explosives onto a train to wreck a carriage can't be much less difficult than sneaking on enough explosives to just obliterate the train and kill the vast majority of those aboard.
That could just be a bomb malfunctioning as it was taken to it's actual target, as (I think) happened with the last exploding bus we had.

Yeah. My old German teacher (one of them) used to talk with us about how easy it would be to carry out an effective terrorist attack.
Refl...They're removing all of the bins from the centre of Edinburgh.
Nice.

Slapping Penguin 07-07-2005 07:14 AM

It wasn't poor planning its just difficult with thing like sercuitrity and bombs. Mabye their timers weren't set right. Or a terriost wasn't on time. Not bad plainning and they just probely had a hicup.

Or just the fact that they didn't want a high casualty rate, maybe?

I read your story and I liked it very much. :p

I was on AOL this morning and saw the headlines about the London bombing. Wow. That was unexpected; but I guess that's the point. How bad was it? I didn't read the article.

That was a pretty good story, how long did it take you?
I'm guessing the men in the story were Aboriginal?

Anyway, off to work. Adios.

What, you wrote another one? :p
(The one about the drive is the kind of thing I would print out and put on my collage/wall for people to read and say "what the fuck?")

Arucard 07-07-2005 09:08 AM

Wow, that London stuff is bad, and it will only give everyone an excuse to become really racist for a while. I take it it was Al-Queda?

:/

Yeah, they claimed responsibility on a website. It says so on the CNN article Jom posted.
What, what other story did I write?
You said "the one about the drive" so I thought maybe you had written another one. Nevermind. :)

Riva 07-07-2005 09:12 AM

Oh. :) I think I've written rants in this thread before, that's why I thought you might have been referring to those...

Arucard 07-07-2005 09:15 AM

Wow. I am really scared of going back to my school now, considering it is 60% Muslim, and alot of them are just itching to shoot a white person :/

Yeah. But think about the muslims for a minute, and how America, hell, almost the entire world is prejudiced against them. It's got to be scary for them too.

We had some really bad stuff go on around here after 9/11. Really bad. People we know, too. My Dad even. It was really bad.

magicbus 07-07-2005 09:36 AM

Riva that was a good story, I was surprised that you could keep the dialect throughout the whole thing. I don't know enough phrases like that to keep it going. :thumb:

Haven't read about the bombing, but I am going to now.

With all the blood spilt by white people (almost every war in history), why aren't you afraid of the whites at your school? No one race has a monopoly on idiocy, cruelty, etc.

Drugstep 07-07-2005 09:46 AM

I think Joe was joking.

I don't know what race anyone at my school next year will be, nor do I know anything, but there will only be 30 people in my grade. It's a school for advance studies. :smoke:

Now Downloading : Children Of Bodom - Red Light In My Eyes Part 2.

Arucard 07-07-2005 09:56 AM

Valid points there, but the reason im not afraid of the whites at my school is because they don't want to kill me. I've seen kids get beaten to a pulp by the asian majority in my school, and i don't want to be next. Thats why i generally keep myself to myself when it comes to them.
