I'm trying to get an early start on the featured genre of Country Rock I want to do. Yes, that means I am not going for Jam Rock.

Going good so far. :)
Can you explain to me what exactly this "featured genre" thing is?

Now I finished my review and I'm bored.

You explain a genre. Like a CD review, but for a musicial genre. I'm almost done with mine. I'm at about 1971 :D.
When is your dad's birthday? It's my dad's birthday on Sunday, and I also have to get him something. Probably classic rock related.
clown_phobia 02-25-2005 11:22 PM

Classic rock is becoming popular because today's music isn't as good.

clown_phobia 02-25-2005 11:25 PM

I look forward to reading the classic rock featured genre. :D

Sorry, yea. Acutally I'm done it now.

Badmoon 02-26-2005 12:10 AM

Just finished one on Country Rock. If any of you ever think about dibbing that, I'll shoot you in the face.

You're the only one who would want to dib it.

Impressive. Well done.

I don't post in this thread often so i was just wondering if Chilliwack has ever been brought up. IMO they're one of the most talented Canadian Classic Rock bands of all-time. Anyone who's a fan of Neil Young would love them.

the_zeppelin_volta 02-26-2005 12:34 AM

It's not experiencing a revival..... i think.......
i have noticed Garage Rock Revival Only which has some reminiscences of old school punk and rock.

that is true but at my school, many jocks and preps listen to some classic rock, such as zeppelin, pink floyd, hendrix but only listen to their very popular songs.

blue3 02-26-2005 12:53 AM

Same with my school.. a lot of people now listen to classic rock but only know a few songs

I don't think its back any more then it used to. We just listen to it because we don't like new music, and want to find a better genre so we go to the classics. I'm sure we have the same number of kids who listen to it to escape pop punk and emo as the number of kids who listened to it to escape hair bands and disco.

Walrus Gumboot 02-26-2005 09:17 AM

We have a bit of everything at my school. Except bluegrass, I may be the only one of those

angus-young 02-26-2005 09:56 AM

people in my school like crappy rap but i listen to black sabbath, ac/dc and def leppard

leppard are the bomb

lunch998 02-26-2005 09:58 AM

This topic is old and pointless. Def Leppard sucks. Surrealistic Pillow, on the other hand, does not.

Don't you have a wanted list?
Don't you have a wanted list?
Yea, but then I lost it and I didn't feel like making another one. Nor do I remember the majority of the things on there.

How about something by The Byrds? If so, I recommend Sweetheart of the Rodeo, but if you cannot get that, get Fifth Dimensiton.

That's a good idea.

What Widespread Panic CD would be best to start with?

Space Wrangler

Badmoon 02-26-2005 10:25 AM

That's a fantastic album. Though I'm digging Til the Medicine Takes more, lately.

But Space Wrangler has...

Space Wrangler
Coconuts
The Take Out
The Porch Song

While TTMT has...

Climb Safety
Blue Indian
The Waker

Good album :thumb:

Badmoon 02-26-2005 10:26 AM

Where has RocknotRoll been? Everyone else has been around :(

I wonder what his thoughts are on TTMT, I know he likes Space Wrangler.

Jam2Me 02-26-2005 10:28 AM

I got Til The Medicine Takes pretty recently, I loved it. I've always had trouble finding Widespread Panic at my record store...it's selection kinda sucks :(

Badmoon 02-26-2005 10:30 AM

It takes me at least a week to get into every Widespread Panic album.

Uber Cobra is a cool live album. It has a great performance of "Papa Johnny Road".

lensmand1 02-26-2005 10:58 AM

this is where it has always been the best :

at least it has been for me. Lazy = best live number in the history of rock :thumb:

lensmand1 02-26-2005 10:59 AM

mmmm, dont seem to be able to post images. help here any one??

Woodstock 02-26-2005 11:17 AM

Can anyone send me something by The Band? I'd prefer the album with "The Weight".

Anyone here like Fleetwood Mac? 'Cause I've really been getting into them recently, and I've heard Rumours is their best album, and I've been thinking of buying it. Any suggestons?

No.

Walrus Gumboot 02-26-2005 01:20 PM

What are your opinions on the Byrds' version of Mr. Tambourine Man vs. Dylan's? Methinks the Byrds missed some of the best verses in the song, but they have a better intro
