They ALMOST came through here the otherday, but cancelled. Those new songs are really great.

flesh 08-06-2008 12:00 PM

Saw La Quiete last night with Graf Orlock, Phoenix Bodies, and some locals. Phoenix Bodies was pretty unique and cool. Graf was awesome as always. La Quiete was one of the most amazing sets I've seen. My friend shot the whole set so if anyone wants to see it I can give the youtube link once he uploads it.

pixiesfanyo 08-06-2008 12:34 PM

you need to go to more shows. La Quiete was good, but really nothing super special.

team_racket 08-06-2008 02:38 PM

I ask for it too, as they have only ever played the East coast.

flesh 08-06-2008 02:41 PM

Hopefully he uploads it soon. He was also given footage of Pg.99's last show. Its on VHS and theres other siqq bands.

BuddyBigsby 08-06-2008 05:46 PM

how many people showed up to the riverside show? and did the bands play on the stage or the side?

br3ad_man 08-06-2008 06:01 PM

There are three Ceremony/Shipwreck shows happening within an hour of where I live in October. :D

flesh 08-07-2008 10:01 AM
how many people showed up to the riverside show? and did the bands play on the stage or the side?
It was a decent amount of people and all the bands played on the side.

iamrockzorz 08-08-2008 10:18 PM

cobert 08-08-2008 10:22 PM
your band have a myspace? or any tunes?

Nice dude. Their album is pretty sick. I forget, what is your band again?
my band's name is khonsu

http://www.myspace.com/khonsumusic

we are yet to actually record, but one of our friends taped the show with a legit *** video camera and he is editing it and **** but once its up and what not I will post it.

The first video is two songs from our second show. The audio quality of the first song is kind of shitty, the second song is better.

The second video was recorded at a practice a couple months back, the audio quality in that video is a lot better than the first one.

I think we're playing two shows on tuesday.

We're playing the Bike Church in Santa Cruz with Deers! and Adobe Homes on the 14th. Then the next day we're playing a house show in Monterey/Marina with Adobe Homes. Should be fun.

^ tbh i'm not a huge fan of that setlist. then again they probably get tired of playing all their "classics" year after year.

cbmartinez 08-13-2008 01:02 AM

tbh only thing missing is paranoid android and maybe an amnesiac track

cobert 08-13-2008 04:05 PM

Sick brah, it will probably be boring though.

So I watched Eraserhead last night. Movie definitely is initially more confusing than Mulholland Drive, although after reading some interpretations it actually might make more sense than whatever bullshit interpretations exist of MD.

team_racket 08-14-2008 09:19 AM

Still havent managed to see it. Blue Velvet is a favourite of mine.

Matt? 08-14-2008 10:47 AM

don't bother, it's my least favorite of his films i've seen. you've seen the best. the elephant man is pretty good. lost highway is cool too. mulholand drive is stupid. it's like the kind of bulls'hit that people will watch and then google what it means, and later make you watch it with them and be all smug when they understand it.

overall david lynch is meh besides blue velvet

pppoe 08-14-2008 11:13 AM

so where's that la quiete, guy?

Matt? 08-14-2008 12:00 PM

nobody is named guy in here.

you could check the band fugazi though, i think they have a guy.

Mulholland drive is tight bro. Nobody understands it though.

I had a way different interpretation of Eraserhead after watching it than things I read online. I thought it was all about extreme sexual frustration.

I still haven't seen Blue Velvet, Lost Highway, or Inland Empire.

pppoe 08-14-2008 02:31 PM

is mulholland drive the flick with the lesbians?

Are you still selling that Presidents comp?

cobert 08-14-2008 05:37 PM
is mulholland drive the flick with the lesbians?
Yes.

Even if you hated that movie, you have to approve of Naomi Watts' titties.

Matt? 08-14-2008 08:24 PM

i actually really did approve of her titties but i think the other girl had nicer ones... but i kind of forget. i just remember them being more...

...bigger.

yah that comp is still up for grabs

but i'm out of here in 1 week so if ya want it you gotta get to me quick

Blue Velvet and Lost Highway are both really awesome. Highly reccommended.

Tyr 08-15-2008 02:10 AM

I never really understood what's good about David Lynch.

team_racket 08-15-2008 04:19 AM

Same here really, but Blue Velvet, twin peaks and the first film he did on that small budget were beautiful.

Oh yeah, I forgot that Twin Peaks is the greatest show of all time.

cbmartinez 08-15-2008 08:35 AM

ive only seen mulholland dr. it was pretty trippy i thought

Matt? 08-15-2008 10:38 AM

it's part of my assfactor 4 collection but i'd sell it for like i dunno 15 bucks or something.
