Me in South Park form
Big lol. That's awesome. Those South Park pictures are better than any characature(sp?) anyone could draw.
what kind of books do you like?

irrelevant: What is Washington DC? State, the capital, seattle city? Excuse my ignorance, I happen not to be an american
It's our nation's capitol, it's a small area of land between Virginia and Maryland.

Its the capital of the USA. Its inbetween Maryland and Virginia, its not part of either state, and its not its own state.

Cain 07-06-2005 03:58 PM

Yes, the "Washington" part is a reference to George Washington, the first president and so a fitting namesake for our place of government, and the "DC" is short for "District of Columbia" in reference to Crístobar Cólon (aka Christopher Columbus ;) ), the "discoverer" of America the land.

EDIT: Jom, why did you not friend me? :( Don't expect me to do it as I lost the email with your full name.

Arucard 07-06-2005 03:59 PM

Oh btw Cain, my cover of 'Blinded By Fear' may just give you a run for your money :P

Mine has all real instruments, i've done the drums all ready.
It's our nation's capitol, it's a small area of land between Virginia and Maryland.
I got it. You know, I usually see it as plain Washington and not Washington DC and I was told that there is another city named Washington in Seattle

This was quite enlightning, thank you!

Sweet. :) I plan on listening once all the entries are in and finalized. Until then I scoff at any and all competition. :p

I'm betting it's good though. I do not have multi-talented instrumental skills, just a good ear. On the plus side, the drums I'm working with now sound much more real than SHIDI MIDI.

MetalFan: No, you're all confused. Washington is the state, Seattle is the city. And Washington is the shorthand for Washington DC. Everybody refers to the state with "state" added as a qualifier, as in: "I'm from Washington state."

ATM 07-06-2005 04:02 PM

Washington is a state on the west coast.

Can somebody give me a definition of power metal?

No man, Seattle is a city in the state Washington.

So there's a state called Washington on the West coast of America. Then on the East coast there's an area of ceded land called Washington DC.

Stoic 07-06-2005 04:05 PM

a faster and more symphonic maiden with choruses, maybe?

Cain 07-06-2005 04:06 PM
Washington is a state on the west coast.

One of the most gloriously pretentious, bombastic, retro, and overall least threatening of all modern "extreme" metal genres. Characteristics include a powerful vocalist with operatic tones and vibrato, very fast and extremely melodic guitars, choirs and orchestra backing them up, with fantasy themes often inspired by Tolkein and/or Broadway (Nightwish, for instance). A theatrical form of modern metal.

sounds interesting, cant wait to hear it. Same with Blinded by Fear (all instruments by 88 fingers of Joe), Transylvanian Hunger (br3ad man will make it symphonic) and A fine day to die (magicaltroll seems excited), technical anato song name of which I dont remember by 12ounces. The amon amarth cover is the best so far.

I watched it, Trivium stole the show, as usual. They really are an amazing live band. Some of the awards were slightly misplaced though. Nightwish, best NEWCOMER band? Hello?

 they have no clue have they?

I just heard Chris' taste of my scythe version and It's sounding pretty cool

Arucard 07-06-2005 06:16 PM

That Amon Amarth cover is cool, but the drums are obviously programmed dude.
