edit- Who's that in your avatar Badmoon?
Neil Cassady. Grateful Dead friend, Merry Prankster, living legend.

If you have every read Jack Kerouac's "On the Road", he is the man Dean Moriarty is based off of. The book is of course based upon true events.

I actually planned on going to the library and getting that book today, but all this school stuff came up and I didn't get home till like 7:30 so the library was closed.

Those are the best Jethro Tull albums anyone could own! I'm quite impressed, I own most of them and they are wonderful. I don't have the This Was and Benefit albums, although I've got a couple other albums that aren't quite as good.

Jam2Me 02-25-2005 12:00 AM

Oh **** Disconnection Notice I didn't know you liked George Clinton and P-Funk...I saw them at Toad's Place a while, pretty crazy show, they were awesome though, and my buddy got George Clinton to autograph his ticket stub.

Illmatic 02-25-2005 12:05 AM

That's pretty cool.

Illmatic 02-25-2005 12:21 AM

I didn't know they were touring :(

jpj 02-25-2005 07:20 AM

The only funk album I;ve heaard all the way through is Uncle Jam Wants You by Funkadleic, and I loved it.

pigonthewing82 02-25-2005 09:06 AM

Is it just me or towards the end of his career did song Hendrix songs sound an awful lot like funk.

IAJP 02-25-2005 09:44 AM

A lot of early stuff was too, Foxy Lady is a prime example

pigonthewing82 02-25-2005 09:46 AM

Very true, I see it a lot more in his Band of Gypses days. I prefer his blues-rock-funk to his blues-rock. Too bad he got booed for it.

IAJP 02-25-2005 09:49 AM

I love the Blues Rock era, Hendrix is great, haven't listened to him for a while

pigonthewing82 02-25-2005 09:50 AM
I love the Blues Rock era, Hendrix is great, haven't listened to him for a while
:amaze: I go into withdrawl if I haven't listened to him for a day.

IAJP 02-25-2005 09:57 AM

I love the Band Of Gypises album, it's great.

Heh, you live in CT too? I have so much trouble finding decent concerts around here... I almost got to see Blue Oyster Cult at the Milford Oysterfest but they got rained out (**** outdoor concerts).

Jam2Me 02-25-2005 12:29 PM

Really? There's always tons of great shows at Toad's, and I've signed up for local concert alerts via e-mail so I don't miss much.
Like this Saturday there's going to be Gov't Mule at Oakdale.

Jam2Me 02-25-2005 12:31 PM

Well I guess it's past the day, but George Harrison's 62nd B-Day would've been yesterday. I watched a DVD of him in remembrance.

lunch998 02-25-2005 01:21 PM

So I just got
Grateful Dead - S/t, Workingman's Dead
Allman Bros - Eat a Peach
Traffic - John Barleycorn Must Die.

I figured it was about time I got Workingman's Dead and Eat a Peach.

It's one of my favorite Dead records. I've heard it before, just never owned it myself until now.
