They any good? Should I check them out?
Yeah WholeNote usually has some good lessons and shtuff.

Ben: Right on! Finally got a band goin' eh? How are the rest of the musicians?

Shadows 03-11-2006 06:31 PM
Nice. What did you get?
Jackson RR5  It's not 100% yet though. I found a few of them around different stores online for insane prices, I just have to confirm it.
Ben: Right on! Finally got a band goin' eh? How are the rest of the musicians?
Yeah man, it's about damn time. The bassist is much better than I thought he would be and should be able to handle most anything we throw at him. The guy I'm going to call for second guitar is great too. The only drawback is our drummer, who is still brand new to playing. He can handle simple stuff even though he seems to have decent speed already.

Still, I'm psyched. :)

Shred Danson 03-11-2006 06:34 PM

Well about the drummer, here's something to get your hopes up. Tim, our drummer, has only been playing for over a year now. But he is insanely coordinated, talented and can play double bass like no other...it's insane. Maybe your drummer will get to his level of playing as quick as Tim did.

Shadows 03-11-2006 06:36 PM

I hope so. I was really impressed for some who had only been playing 6 months, and he plays every day, so he'll definitely improve. With some work he should have no problem with the stuff we're going to do.

Awesome, I don't own an RR5, but my mate does and I borrowed it for a gig. Brilliant guitar, plays like a dream.

When my band first started we were all pretty new to playing. The second guitarist was awful and played things slower than the rest of the band and the drummer had trouble keeping simple beats. Over time we got rid of the drummer and second guitarist and got a new drummer who kicks major anus. We now have a singer too and are now a metal/wannabe power metal band.

Shred Danson 03-11-2006 06:40 PM

That is fricken' sweet man. Word of advice, don't get stuck in the rut of doing shows with a bunch of covers. Write your own bitchin' material and hammer it out, knock soem people on their feet!

EDIT: that was to ben :-/

Apocalyptic Raids 03-11-2006 06:53 PM

Too slow Trev :-P

Rasta Rocker 03-11-2006 06:55 PM

It's been a long time since I've been in the R&M forum...been spending my time in the bass forum. Anyway, just tonight I've gotten into Atreyu. What songs would anyone reccommend to download. I think I heard one of my friends say that their singer damaged his vocal chords screaming, so he doesn't do it as much anymore. It might have been a different singer (different band of course), not sure. But if it is the right guy, I prefer the not screaming music. Thanks everyone.

EDIT:Nevermind, I didn't know there was a reccomendation thread, it's been a while...

Symphony/really long song timecheck: 8 Minutes 8 seconds. Only 52 minutes left to write. copy&paste FTW.

Wait for the having 8 minutes or for writing an hour long song?

Update: 11 mins 43 seconds

Illmatic 03-11-2006 07:47 PM

I'm not sure why you would write a one hour long song just to write a one hour long song.

Boredom maybe?

NP: Sentenced - Dead Moon Rising
Boredom maybe?

Kinda. I asked my mate if I could write an entire album based on one riff. He said "Beethoven did it" then after a little bit of explaining/arguing I was challenged to write a symphony/really long song in E minor/G Major based on the CBAG Chords.

13:35 so far. I'm gonna go to bed and do some more tomorrow.

Replace sister with "girlfriend who isn't related to you in anyway" and I might resist from crushing your nuts.

Just kidding. Bitch.

Dean has a pic of them as his wallpaper, it's all stretched out and stuff, makes their faces look like Kilng-ons. I'll try to find it real quick.

Go to their myspace, www.myspace.com/geminilounge and scroll down to a comment dated 10/6/2005 by a guy named Madible 666...there's the pic.

You're girlfriend takes things to seriously.

My solution: put it in her ear.

No she doesn't. She knows Ben jokes all the time like that.

Your solutions always = crap.

...So I was balls-deep in this guy's ass and I go for the reach-around and he has a hard on. How gay is that?

/breaks the ice.

My friend said that at this party we were at once when we were around a couple kids we didn't know and it was awkwardly quiet before he said it.
