dunno if you were being serious nostalgia but striborg are ****

illmitch 11-05-2009 12:02 AM

you know strid right

dUSK 11-05-2009 12:04 AM

Not sure about bands in same vein as Wither/Woods.. Struggling to think of any similiar sounds.

Maybe try Nox Inferi, Pestilential Shadows, Rift or Paroxysmal Descent for a despressive sound. Elysian Blaze, Funeral Mourning and Abyssmal Sorrow if you're after a doomier touch.

EDIT: Oh, and Striborg!

yeah ive been listening to toward the depths since yesterday, it's got a great atmosphere. the vocals on some of the tracks are a little weird though, totally muffled and not in a good way, but then they sort of just break free and sound really good on other tracks.

Angmar 11-05-2009 12:16 AM
ripped off nyktalgia
lulz

rasputin 11-05-2009 12:17 AM

also dunno if you've listened to it already, check out Wither's self titled EP Nate, I think you'll like it.

Txus 11-05-2009 12:35 AM

Been listening to this band from Italy called Urna. Their first EP is pretty epic. Two good ambient tracks, an awesome black/doom song and one of the best Mayhem covers I've ever heard.

illmitch 11-05-2009 01:13 AM

sounds interesting

unrelated, but do any of you guys like circle of ouroborus

rasputin 11-05-2009 01:13 AM

i think im getting the promo of their latest release in my next package, haven't listened to any of their music yet though

Txus 11-05-2009 01:16 AM

they are great

you need to listen to their new album, Iter ad Lucem, its pretty outstanding black/doom and probably their best work so far even though i havent heard that EP. their other two albums are also really good.
unrelated, but do any of you guys like circle of ouroborus
one of my favorite bm bands tbh

their split with urfaust is unreal and their joy division cover ****ing rules

illmitch 11-05-2009 01:18 AM

they're so friggin weird but i love em

i think i have them tagged on last.fm as "esoteric ritualistic black metal"

Txus 11-05-2009 01:21 AM

haha

Ive been listening to lots of (V.E.G.A) this week, really twisted black metal you guys should check out
