My melodic hardcore band is starting to really rock.

Nope, not yet. We got a new singer, so were working on some at the mo. The thing is, we play melodic hardcore, which is basically punk with a punk vocalist but poppier riffs (think melodic death, but the punk version), and we cover bloc parties 'Helicopter' which is wierd.

I honestly dont see why everyone bums Tool so much. I listen to Lateralus today and was just like 'Wow, these guys are going out of their way to put as many 'Random' time signatures in as possible.'

Not impressed.

I like Tool for the riffs and melodies and stuff. I think Adam Jones is an amazing riff writer, and they all sound very cool. That's what makes me like them. The songs sound different, and are almost so cool that they're epic. Also many of them are long, which attracts me as well. Listen to The Patient towards the end, when all the sweet riffs and vocal melodies are going at once. Its enough to give you chills.

Although I think its cool, I don't really listen for the time signatures either.

I'm going to whore off my poorly made Death Metal song. :(

The Quality is pretty poor as you said. But from what I can make out it sounds good :)
