Do you sing because you couldn't find a vocalist and the guys figured it was better than nothing, or do you actually sing? (sorry if that seems insulting, it's not meant to be in the slightest)
Me and the guitarist both sing, as in he sings some songs, and I sing some, etc. We wanted a separate vocalist just to give us more flexibility (so we're not limited to only what we can play while singing), but we kinda gave up on that. We actually had a vocalist (who wasn't very good), but we kicked him out because we sang better.
I downloaded a Jazz is Dead song, and it is ****ing awesome. I want more.
And the coolest thing about Jazz is Dead is that they remake Grateful Dead songs. They are each highly respected Jazz, Jam Band and Fusion artists. I really like that they have to highly respected Jazz artists who play songs by a band that played a small role in their careers and known genres.

Jimmy Herring - Aquarium Rescue Unit, Allmans, The Dead.
Billy Cobham - Mahavishnu Orchestra, Bob Weir & The Midnites, ect...
Alphonso Johnson - Weather Report, Bob Weir & The Midnites, Santana
T. Lavitz - Dixie Dregs
Jeff Morgenstien - Dixie Dregs
Jeff Stipe - Aquarium Rescue Unit

sounds very similar to the situation my band is in. What instrument do you play?

thickasabrick 01-03-2005 10:44 PM

hey what genre does Neil Diamond fit into?

BludgeonySteve 01-03-2005 10:49 PM
hey what genre does Neil Diamond fit into?
Kick ***.

Or umm, like soft rock.

thickasabrick 01-03-2005 10:50 PM

so he can't be discussed in here?

i've never heard him before, but i have some of his records laying around, and my mom talks about him a lot. so im curious.

RockAndRoll 01-03-2005 10:52 PM

He could probably be discussed in here, that being said I've never really listened to him and have no real interest in him so count me out.

thickasabrick 01-03-2005 11:14 PM

so if anyone comes back, i would like someone to give me some info on neil diamond. i went to a site about him, and he sounds like something i would be interested in.

Badmoon 01-03-2005 11:18 PM

Ahhh, errr, popish.

thickasabrick 01-03-2005 11:27 PM
Ahhh, errr, popish.
is that directed towards Neil Diamond?

do you mean popish like The Beatles, or popish like Britney Spears?

is there a better part of the forum i could stick this in?

Badmoon 01-03-2005 11:48 PM
is that directed towards Neil Diamond?
Well, I don't like him. Just take it as that.

thickasabrick 01-03-2005 11:53 PM
Well, I don't like him. Just take it as that.
Fair enough. Is there anyone around here that likes him?

I'm kinda standing on the fence here, because I always assumed he was like lame and fake and stuff, but then I've heard good stuff about him. So now I'm curious. I've heard that song Sweet Caroline...are his other songs better or worse than that? I found it enjoyable, but nothing too amazing.

Hardest_Rocker 01-03-2005 11:59 PM

Just preview some of his stuff at Amazon. If you like what you hear from the 30 second clip, use Kazaa to download the whole song. If you still like what you hear, use BitTorrent to get the whole album. If you listen to it and love it, go buy it. Thats how I do it :thumb:

I don't do things that way, as stupid as that may sound...but i suppose it is the only way to go at this point in time. I prefer to know something about the artist before i hear them.

Personally, i dislike him. I can see how people do like him, but i don't.
Thats just me.

Badmoon 01-04-2005 12:25 PM

Did you check the Site?

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 01-04-2005 12:30 PM

Hey Badmoon, what makes Limewire so good?

Badmoon 01-04-2005 01:59 PM

I haven't been sued, I don't get viruses, and there are generally no problems.

magicbus 01-04-2005 02:02 PM

I like Limewire too, I just like Soulseek better for the fact that you can download entire folders at once. But Soulseek doesn't work for me anyways.

RockAndRoll 01-04-2005 02:48 PM

*still has a crappy version of kazaa that doesn't work* :(

thickasabrick 01-04-2005 02:52 PM

the problem with limewire is it's becoming too popular. once a music sharing dealy gets too popular, it starts getting attacked by the courts, and virus's also swarm in.
i've probably tried using just about every program there is, and they are all awesome to start with, but once more people start using them they start to fall apart. that will happen with limewire soon enough...so stop telling other people to start using it! :)

Broken Arrow 01-04-2005 02:56 PM

/doesn't download :upset:

magicbus 01-04-2005 02:58 PM

Six Foot Revolver 01-04-2005 02:59 PM
