Somthing I just realized thats probally just a weird coincidence is that the vocals on Pink Floyds Have a Cigar are an awful lot like King Crimson's Cat Food.

Bon_Scottie 02-24-2005 04:58 PM

Sorry to bring back an old thread, but I am too a Classic Rock nut. I have thousands of songs on my PC, and literally three quaters of them are classic rock.

Well, seens as for some reason I can't make a thread, I'm a huge fan of AC/DC and have been for years. I know them inside out... and for an English Test I have to do a talk about them.

I plan on talking about past and present, and also playing a video I've got for Rocker. Without a doubt, Angus young is an idol. What he does on stage is so passionate, and is unbelievable rock and roll.

Well, I was wondering if anybody knew of any videos on the Internet with Angus Youngs' greatest moments in or something? I plan on playing Rocker because he plays two awesome solo's, and also does the usual duck walk, goes into crowd on Body guards shoulders, goes on Bon Scotts shoulders, goes off stage because he needs oxygen... hits the floor and spins round playing the guitar. You know... that ole' shinanigon.

If I could find a video with tons of these great clips of him, It would be good to show me' mates.

Cheers.

Aha, the system works!

You can't make a thread for 24 hours. Don't make an AC/DC thread. There already is one. Post in it.

Bon_Scottie 02-24-2005 05:06 PM

Alright, nice one.

Any chance of a link? I was looking for the search forums options but couldn't find nowt.

You know, a thread's not really that old if the person above you posted 38 minutes ago...

and if you're gonna do what Angus does... good luck, and be sure to practice before with an old guitar.

Angus Young is crazy on stage...at least from what I've seen from various clips from concerts. That schoolboy uniform...lol.

So where are you and Angus Young registered? Are you two gonna send out invitations?

Badmoon 02-24-2005 06:04 PM

I'm really liking this song...

Funkadelic - Can you Get to That

Disconnection has probably heard it.

Illmatic 02-24-2005 06:07 PM

Good tune right there.

Badmoon 02-24-2005 06:09 PM

I'm going to upload it onto here.

Rory, have you heard anything from the Grateful Dead yet?

Badmoon 02-24-2005 06:28 PM

Here's that Funkadelic song I was talking about. Check it out.

That song wasn't very funky. I'm disappointed.

Walrus Gumboot 02-24-2005 06:34 PM

I found out this snotty teacher was a huge Dead fan last week. It was funny, she was telling me how many shows she saw back when she lived in CA (12). Well..if you saw her you would be surprised, she is very...bourgeois

SkynyrdFan4Ever 02-24-2005 06:36 PM

I've been a dead head for a few years thanks to my dad. Too freaking back I never got to see them before Jerry and Brent died. But hey, they still got Bob and the remainder of the clan.

We need an album from The Dead...

jpj 02-24-2005 06:38 PM

There have been rumors that they were going to do a new album with Warren, but I don't think there's any truth to that.Though it would be awesome.

I remember going to a mall when I was really little, 4 or 5, and there was a cardboard cut out of Jerry in a window, and my dad was like "Look, honey! It's brother Jerry!" Ahh. Memories.

Eh my dad saw them on their most recent tour. He said he wasn't that impressed (well compared to early Dead)

Well, since Warren is part of The Dead, they are only doing an album.

Oh I see how it is.

Is Zu-Zu Man a good Dr. John album?

Badmoon 02-24-2005 07:07 PM

Get Gris-gris. It's his debut, and possibly his best.

Plus, I wouldn't know, I only have one album.

CaptainWaits 02-24-2005 07:11 PM

Meh picked myself up a Grateful Dead CD :)

Well, Zu-Zu Man was only $2.40 on Amazon and it got 5 stars so I decided to give it a try.

Which album, Animosty?

EDIT: Nice, Blues for Allah is awesome.

Deep End 1 and Dose.

Badmoon 02-24-2005 08:24 PM

+ Deepest End

Jam2Me 02-24-2005 08:44 PM

Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle is a funny *** movie.

Classic Rock relevance? None.

I'm picking up the Stephen Stills - s/t as reccomended by Badmoon, I'm sure I'll like it.
When I found out I could order any Cd I wanted from my local record store and have it the next day my mouth started watering, heh I could've named 20 Cds off the top of my head the store didn't have that I wanted.

wanton 02-24-2005 08:48 PM
Deep End 1 and Dose.

+ Deepest End
Any specific songs I should check out to see if I like like them, and which of those albums is the bluesiest?

Badmoon 02-24-2005 08:51 PM

They're all Blues based. You can't go wrong by picking any of the three, Blues wise.

Though, Deepest End, Deep End: Vol. 1 > Dose

pigonthewing82 02-24-2005 08:59 PM

I try to learn as many Blues songs as I can. I find that most good rock bands hold their roots in blues.
