<3 spending money... bought Assassin's Creed II for the PS3, new Star Trek movie on Blu-Ray, and the new John Mayer CD Battle Studies.

Seeing I have two tests tomorrow I wont be playing ACII until tomorrow night, which seeing I have Thursday off I will be playing it until I pass out Thursday night. Star Trek is like lunch/break TV to get my mind off studying, and this John Mayer CD is pretty good even though I've only listened to half of it so far.

why on earth would you buy movies and music
why on earth would you buy movies and music
I like owning things... idk. I honestly like having hard copies of things. Hell, I have a small selection of movies on my computer and it was a pain tracking them down let alone tracking down and downloading the 200+ DVDs I own.

Let us remember, torrents are no good if people don't seed. I could probably find a working torrent, Blu-Ray quality, of Star Trek right now, but a working torrent of say Tank Girl or Empire Records. I could probably find a torrent with one seeder, maybe, and wait two months for it to download... or I could go to Best Buy and drop $5 and own it on DVD.

P.S. - Yeah, I am a sucker for $5 movies.

Yeah, while I'm at my apartment (which seems to share an IP per building at least) it is near impossible for me to do that. Good try though :thumb:

Apartments suck balls... and honestly how long did it take for you to download those things? I mean, they are usually in at least 10 parts. So you have to download one, wait for their stupid limit to wear off, then download the next, and so on and so forth.

I mean I downloaded a movie I could not find for the life of me in the U.S. (it is a Canadian movie) from megaupload over the span of I think 5 days, it had 8 parts. Of course I had to battle my apartment and its gayness too. Good thing I'm a night own or I would have never gotten that damn movie.

Edit: BM, you haven't lived until you've seen Blu-Ray animal photographs... I mean movies.

Blue_Moon 11-17-2009 05:20 PM

dvds are grand

actually the only hdmi connection i have to the tv is an xbox its alrite, id like to try a proper hd shizzle thing

i use jdownloader, which automatically queues the files for me, so i just set it and leave it until it downloads them all. took less than a day if i remember right, but right now my school is doing some thing with the internet so everything is really slow.

Left Face Down 11-17-2009 08:11 PM

Eh, Blu-Ray is a little expensive, but it is pretty. It all depends on what you want, and if you care about the image you see on the TV. Actually both Blu-Ray I have, and the one I downloaded in Blu-Ray quality, are just beautiful on my TV/Computer screens. Of course my computer monitors don't do 1080p, but I did stream Watchmen (the one on my computer) through my PS3 and it still looked pretty hot. Only have Transformers : RotF and Star Trek on blu-ray DVD now.

Over all, with a good TV and good stereo system, it looks and sounds better than DVD. It is if you care that it looks better and sounds better is where the argument is. That and back in the good old days of HD-DVD fan boy morons running around going, "what is so great about a blue ray?" Not knowing that HD-DVD also uses a blue ray, for the same reason Blu-Ray does.

Oh, but that is my Sony whore coming out. I wonder if I was born earlier if I would have all been like Beta > VHS. I mean Sony made the Beta... which was one of the primary reasons for me backing Blu-ray (as a joke initially).

i think it's the mentioning of "truck driver"

Giga 11-18-2009 12:16 AM

That is most certainly coloring my view of truck drivers.

Giga 11-18-2009 02:32 AM

I am now walking funny and off-balance to due a large scale evacuation of my bowels. Now, fellows, let me explain to you what definition of "evacuate" I'm using here: the process of creating a vacuum. And this is certainly what occurred. All was vacated from the premises in a torrential emigration from my fucking ass. My center of balance has been thrown completely off kilter, and I think my intestinal track has begun to restructure itself.
The moral of the story is not to eat burritos from places you've never heard of.
