DaveToopes 02-20-2006 10:45 PM

Oh, please. Call me Ethan.

War of the Sexes is the track I'm talking about. It's so good. Phobia's drummer is INSANE.

clustifux 02-20-2006 10:46 PM

for shizzle....

Anyone have anything by Garmonbozia? Ive only heard the crap on their myspace and i want more.

Subvert_bassist 02-20-2006 10:54 PM

Damn, that song is INTENSE. I love Phobia like I love little babies being raped.

...

Scratch that, make that simply "I love Phobia."

Gnarmageddon 02-21-2006 06:19 AM

"Cruel" is f'ucking brutal.
"Cursed" has nice drums.
I heard "War of the Sexes" a while back, but it's still good.

RetiredAt21 02-21-2006 10:35 AM

Phobia still kicks my a'ss.

RetiredAt21 02-21-2006 10:36 AM

Never heard of Garmonbozia, but I'll check out their myspace.

Feel The Darkness 02-21-2006 11:15 AM

wow.....just wow. I hadn't taken the time to listen to these songs yet, and wow....I just remembered why Phobia are my all-time favorite grind band.

AIRIC 02-21-2006 11:17 AM

I'm listening to RAMBO for the first time not on a split, and they are much better on full length than split. Like, a lot better, I actually like them. Do they have a different vocalist on their split with Caustic Christ, or is he just better on Bring It!?

Times Ten 02-21-2006 05:09 PM

I think it is the same guy. I saw them a few weeks ago (with Caustic Christ). Fun as hell. If you like the split with Caustic Christ, then check out Wall of Death The System. One of my favorite albums.

Subvert_bassist 02-21-2006 05:30 PM

Hey guys, my side project (Grave Digger, Like The Monster Truck) took the time to quickly record a couple songs today. Tell me what you guys think. Keep in mind, these are demo records, especially while listening to "D.A. Will Dig Your Grave".

Fritz Plays Bass 02-21-2006 06:16 PM

does anyone have the caustic christ/rambo split they'd sell?

I really wanna get that.

NewKindofArmy03 02-21-2006 07:22 PM
Anti-Product??? They sound some what similar but i think its just because ive been listinin to em a lot latley.
I've always thought they sounded similar.

RetiredAt21 02-21-2006 11:23 PM

Subvert, good stuff, REAL good stuff.

I was just wondering, are any of you guys into black metal? Besides grind and hardcore, it's my favorite genre of music. I'd just like to know if anyone else is into black metal, besides me.

clustifux 02-21-2006 11:27 PM

Feel The Darkness 02-22-2006 06:53 PM

I like some black metal, like Impaled Nazarene and Mayhem, but not much, to be honest. I'm more of a thrash metal and death metal, kind of guy.

Subvert_bassist 02-22-2006 10:37 PM

Some death metal is ok, just not really big into it.

For those of you who liked the Grave Digger, Like The Monster Truck songs I posted up yesterday, I put up three brand new ones. Check out the new GDLTMT and lemme know what you think:

RetiredAt21 02-22-2006 11:02 PM

I'm into lots of black metal bands. Some of the bands I like are:

1349
Darkthrone
Ulver
Craft
Graveland
Burzum
Mayhem
Vlad Tepes
Summoning
and many many more...

If any of you guys are wanting to get into black metal, bands I'd start out with are 1349, Darkthrone, Craft, and possibly Ulver.

I was listening to Deicide today in study hall.

I'm not a huge fan of black metal, but I love death metal.

RetiredAt21 02-23-2006 02:22 PM

Do you like any black metal at all?

Gnarmageddon 02-23-2006 04:42 PM

Eh, I've never really given it a chance I guess. I've only heard some Burzum, Emperor, and Mayhem and it didn't appeal to me very much.

Gnarmageddon 02-23-2006 07:59 PM

Wait, are Nile black metal? Because I loves me some Nile.

NewKindofArmy03 02-23-2006 08:03 PM

I always thought Nile was death. I just got done listening to Annihilation of the Wicked, what a sweet album.

Gnarmageddon 02-23-2006 08:06 PM

I'm listening to In Their Darkest Shrines right now. It rules.

What's the difference between black and death?

NewKindofArmy03 02-23-2006 08:16 PM

I'm not an expert, but I think death metal is more technical and has cleaner production whereas black metal is raw and simpler than death metal. I'm not sure about this one, but typically in death metal the vocalists growl while in black metal, they have high pitched vocals. I'm bad at explaining, it's easy to tell the difference when you listen to the two though.

whiteminority 02-23-2006 08:47 PM
Wait, are Nile black metal? Because I loves me some Nile.
Nile is death metal.

Death metal is more of an expansion of thrash metal just with a bunch of brutality and a purge of rock from its bloodstream. Black metal was conglomeration of original black metal (venom, bathory, slayer, hellhammer, etc.) with a need for evil to be presented. Musically black metal is more straight forward while death metal is more complicated.

Brain Toad 02-23-2006 08:54 PM

I like Impaled Nazarene and Macabre, not sure what either are, but that's the extent of my death/black metal listening

DaveToopes 02-23-2006 08:56 PM

Nick check out Vital Remains and Vornagar.

Go listen to Atheist and Cynic now.

RetiredAt21 02-23-2006 10:04 PM

I don't really know much about death metal, but I know lots about black metal. Black metal is always full of tremelo picking, blastbeats, and usually high(ish) pitch screams. The lyrics stick to the subjects of fantasy, Satan, being anti-Christian, Paganism, and hate. Some NSBM bands even have racist lyrics in their music, that's the kind of stuff I don't go for.

cbmartinez 02-23-2006 10:18 PM

I always thought Black Metal was less heavy and more about creating at atmosphere through the use of synth/keys. Nevertheless, Dimmu Borgir rule.
