Awesome I'll try and see that sometime then. :thumb:
you should it was soo good.

seriously Janis' rendition of "Cry Baby Cry" was the BEST BLUES SONG I'VE EVER HEARD. and i've seen bb king live. The audience actually applauded in a movie theatre. it felt like you were there. i mean she just blew everyone away.

gmoneyguy 08-06-2004 09:45 PM
Okay, I'm not sure if this is exactly what you're both fighting about, but if it is about that The Beatles were the first genre mixing mainstream band. Then no.

Because what about Elvis? He mixed Gospel, Country, Blues, Rock, ect...

That is if you're both discussing that.
we were discussing the beatles but good point

zachenke 08-06-2004 09:46 PM
hahahahaha sooo true
Thanks guitar guy. Man do i talk really witty for a 14 year old or what. "A drunken stupor"....where the f*ck did that come from?!

u can go back earlier than elvis...

RockAndRoll 08-06-2004 09:46 PM
your missing the point (more than likely on purpose) you are right no doubt about that but your bringing up examples that came after the beatles
I'm bringing up examples that came after the beatles because guess which genre I know best - classic rock. If I knew as much about jazz though than i'd give you examples of jazz artist's who've done it.They weren't the first to do a bunch of different stuff or new stuff. Music didn't change trillions of time by everyone sitting back and playing the same sacred (yes music in the begining was sacred) tunes over and over. It has been done before and will be done again.

Everything Janis does is THE BEST EVER!!!!

RockAndRoll 08-06-2004 09:48 PM
Ok you can leave at that instead of arguing with our opinions.
what?

It's too subjective for their to be a truth the beatles are not important to you if you only like mozart.
You're from Cleveland, therefore you are overexposed to Boston if you listen to 98.5.
No way I bought the self titled album. It's one of the greatest albums ever if you ask me.

i did ask you to drop it and now your argument is arguing anything anymore your talking about the future "it has been done before and it will be done again"

themightyquinn 08-06-2004 09:48 PM

I don't even like Janis that much. Too bluesy for me.
u can go back earlier than elvis...
Of Course you can, (I shouldn't have said first) but usually genres mixed weren't that odd.

Like Country + Blues = What the ****!!!!!!

Especially back then.

Or even...

Gospel + Rock

Or...

Anything + Rock

none of that was really done before that, which is actually really irelevant to the discussion.

Some people make conclusions before even trying out the music itself. For example....i know alot of people who assume any band based on a geographical place....i.e. Kansas, Boston, etc. But they produce some of the best music i've ever heard. By the way, MIIK, i love lindsay lohan. But thats besides the point....

Looks like rnr got banned again.
Glad to see some new guys in here :thumb:

On a sadder note, my "Wish You Were Here" disc is scratched to infinity. Guess I gotta buy a new one.

What makes Janis so different than all the others? Although I agree to no Morrison or Beatles bashing.
