Eliminator 12-07-2006 01:22 PM

pulseczar 12-07-2006 01:27 PM

so i went with fabulous muscles. it is as homosexual as its title suggests, but it's good stuff nonetheless.

Electrocution 12-07-2006 02:37 PM

now listen to La Foret and prepare to have your MIND BLOWN by Muppet Face. srsly best song ever.

Little Man being Erased 12-07-2006 03:13 PM

The Organ broke up. :(

Not that they were a really amazing band or anything, but they released a great album and I was hoping for something special from them in the future.

_Mote_ 12-07-2006 03:16 PM

Have any of you guys seen the Flaming Lips flick Fearless Freaks? I watched it yesterday, pretty cool rockumentary.

I'm trying to get hold of the evangelicals album since you posted it in your top 10 of 2006, but can't track it down. I can't get Soulseek at uni so i'm relying on albumbase :(

I did grab the fujiya and Miyagi thing though, it's hot.

I'm beginning to think therapists are the most annoying people in the world. I have to drive about an hour to get to his office, then we chat about the most inane crap he can think of, see how anything can relate to my asperger's syndrome, and then I drive back home again. I'd rather dig a hole in my garage floor using a table spoon than do that every few weeks.

Electrocution 12-07-2006 05:47 PM

i really liked mine...she was very relaxing. we never talked about anything of real consequence but it was nice. i use the past tense because i haven't gone in a few months.

I'e got this problem too. And there's just so much going on in december.

I really shouldn't be on MX right now.

asymm 12-07-2006 06:35 PM

I bet this forum has the highest percentage of folks in therapy. That being said, I've had the same therapist here at school for three years. He's been very helpful and, especially by now, we understand each other. Usually he'll present a multitude of perspectives on any given subject, I've learned a lot from him.

Electrocution 12-07-2006 06:43 PM

i only went because mommy doesn't like the fact that i hit the bong. sometimes i feel like i should go back for other reasons though.

Sam 12-07-2006 07:02 PM

My brother is in therapy because he thinks he's black.

Anxious 12-07-2006 07:39 PM

I went a few times till I told my Dad I wasn't going anymore. It was a waste of his money. It made me realize my depression more acutely and thats about it. Ironic.

Eliminator 12-07-2006 07:41 PM

yeah

i think my parents finally realized that i don't need some pompous asshole charging them money to state obvious things

asdf 12-07-2006 07:55 PM

My therapy sessions cost 9.50 per session, because we were so poor. This was a couple of years ago, my therapist was great, and I don't regret it.

Zmev 12-07-2006 09:22 PM

I'm reading a book by a woman who has aspergers, it's easy to read but meh.

When I was a kid I went to a grief relief group but I stopped going.

sexymuffin 12-07-2006 10:26 PM

my therapy is youth groups and church

:/

Robert Crumb 12-07-2006 11:01 PM

I've never been in therapy, but it probably wouldn't hurt. All therapy is really is a socially acceptable outlet for emotions. The people who need it most are those who don't have someone readily available whom they can spill their beans upon. And if that's true, the only way therapy works is if the patient is willing to treat the therapist as a soundboard, rather than a magician with some secret panacea. I'd assume that the patient is the only one who can "cure" hisherself. But then again, I've never been in therapy so I could be talking out my ***.

Zmev 12-07-2006 11:12 PM

Blogs: The new therapy

Anxious 12-07-2006 11:12 PM

Thats true for certain types of cognitive therapy, but it can be used to assess the need for drugs or more in depth personal methods.

This is a high school psychology class speaking.

asymm 12-07-2006 11:21 PM

Also, coming from a therapist is a professional opinion with much more education and support than just any ole friend of yours. Sometimes people need that, it's not just a replacement for "friends that listen".

Robert Crumb 12-07-2006 11:25 PM

Yeah, that's probably true. Chemical imbalances and that sort of thing are certainly not something an untrained friend can help navigate.

YDload 12-07-2006 11:41 PM

i've taken three psych classes and i'm NOT certified to diagnose you but i do know the different types of therapists :)

Robert Crumb 12-07-2006 11:48 PM

I took a psych class and I've already forgotten nearly everything I learned. Except for Maslow's heirarchy of needs.

Glitterati 12-08-2006 12:30 AM
do you really have asperger's syndrome aka the nerd disease?
uh huh. got diagnosed about two years ago.

i just finished my first work shift. pretty easy. though i'm extremely tired right now.
