The Mercenary 08-31-2004 08:40 AM

i just listened to 'the trooper', really closely, and between about 0:30 - 0:33 of the intro, is it just me or is there a kind of evil laugh in the background, or am i just crazy?

GurS 08-31-2004 09:33 AM

did you know that during the line "rolling sixes all the way" in 'back in the village', someone whispers "six six six"

Topic time: What's the deal with Iron Maiden and movies? I don't know if they've ever been in any, but they've definitely been mentioned.

Like in "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure" when the king says "Put them in the iron maiden!" And Bill and Ted go "Sweet!" And at the end where Bill announces the Wyld Stallyns as opening for Maiden in their demo video.

Also, I think the stoner older brother in "Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead" had a Maiden poster.

The Mercenary 08-31-2004 02:15 PM

^ what other movies have they been mentioned in?

Bill and ted metioned loads of bands, megadeth, primus (it was tommy the cat in the battle of the bands uin the 2nd film wasnt it?), steve vai, kiss, extreme, kings x, slaughter, winger...

ashman 08-31-2004 02:21 PM

^oh and on the second bill and ted when they make that tape as a diversion, they say "maiden rule " at the end of the tape.

Bring your daughter to the slaughter was the theme for a horror film....I think it was nightmare on elm street 4....But i am not too sure.

Thunder Fingers 09-03-2004 08:05 AM

heh.. 7th son of a 7th son... needed somthing to put in my discman when i went to school, and i suddenly got this lust to listen to "Moonchild"...

.Realm.of.Chaos. 09-03-2004 08:53 AM

I think that Powerslave is an excellent album, I even find it better then Number of the Beast. Anyone agree?

I also have the same sort of urge when I used to walk to college (to listen to SSOASS).

Powerslave is a good album, but somewhere in time is much better

MetallicaRULZ192 09-03-2004 11:52 AM

Whoa, had to check there whether I was in the official Metallica or official Maiden thread, even tho I thought I was in the Maiden one...anyway...go away :)

Oh and Kirk Hammett does not own Dave Mustaine.

Thunder Fingers 09-03-2004 12:03 PM

ahahahaha, Janick Gers owns kirk... could kirk make anything likes janicks solo in blood brothers? thought not.... and every single maiden guitarist and every single megadeth guitarist through time is better than kirk..(Why did i just do that  )

alright, wich iron maiden guitarist made you wanna start guitar? for me its janick(the blood brothers solo, im realy an bassist, but i realy want to be able to play that solo :P) im on the hunt for an guitar to buy after i get an fender vintage Precision Bass, an repaint, new pickguard and bridge for it(yes, the "Live After death" Bass also known as the 1982 - 1990 colour:p) i was thinkin of an fender mex. strat maple fretboard guitar and maidenify it :p

andy 09-03-2004 12:14 PM

yay!

ashman 09-03-2004 01:48 PM

erm...it would have to be Adrian Smith, I dunno what it was about him...but he compelled me to pick a guitar and start making several guitar noises. Infinite Dreams was the song that made me start guitar (bass as well, I love the bass line :p).

Janicks solo on Blood brothers is surprisingly easy. But janicks delivery isn't too good, I think if adrian played it, it would sound 100 times better... (janick hasn't heard of vibrato, and adrian is the king of vibrato)

ha its ironic that i found this thread while i was listning to run to the hills... i love iron maiden, even my boyfriend is also a die hard fan of them..

mr snrub 09-03-2004 01:56 PM

Ha ha, I was just listening to Journeyman, man I love that song. I wish my girlfriend shared the same passion that I have for Iron Maiden. But she doesn't like rock and metal music, she is more into r&b crap.
