From as far as I know, At the Gates are Death Metal, like Death.

There are a lot of good Prog rock bands, like: King Crimson, Yes, Pink Floyd, Porcupine Tree, Tool(though they're still fairly heavy), Transatlantic.

At the Gates is one of the definitive Melodic Death Bands.

Same goes for Dark Tranquility.

Kalmahs old old stuff is heavily leaning towards melodic death metal, rather than their power metal of today.

Vikingligr Veldi and Blodhemn are my friends favorites, but youre better off checking them out on metal archives, all their albums are near perfect.

I need some black metal, but some that has better production if possible. Suggest bands/albums/anything.

I already listen to:

Mayhem
Darkthrone
Lykathea Aflame
Emperor
Dimmu Borgir (not real BM)
Cradle of Filth (not real BM)

Those are just some that I listen to a lot.
