Last Cd?

bzzd and cone are still on the band..and throughout this years they have changing their themes and becoming more mature as well but I think their next CD will be their last one..

DJ Ducksauce 06-03-2006 08:17 AM

That sounds very possible. It would be sad to see Sum 41 go though.

bullgarrafuerte 06-03-2006 08:24 AM

I've never went to a concert... I'd kill for getting a ticket.. are they doing more performances?

bassist_for_a_band 06-03-2006 11:43 AM

I would assume that they'd tour whenever their next album comes out... That might not be until 2007 though... Who knows

nightwalker 06-04-2006 11:11 AM

i like there sound now. i read that dave wants to be in a more metal band, i like metal sound of sum 41 now. there not metal but got heavy riffs in it and they are still catchy

bullgarrafuerte 06-04-2006 11:36 AM

more metal?.. mmm that's kind of wierd-- sum 41 for me seems to be everything but not metal-..

Neoteric 06-04-2006 11:56 AM

Nothing On My Back is such a catchy song :)

Sum 41 aren't metal at all. They're just pop/punk with heavy riffs.

bullgarrafuerte 06-04-2006 07:57 PM

I agree with that.. but does anybody know in what band is dave going to be playing know?

bassist_for_a_band 06-04-2006 08:06 PM
I agree with that.. but does anybody know in what band is dave going to be playing know?
He's starting his own metal band, Brown Brigade

or something along those lines

yourstruly 06-04-2006 08:53 PM

Bummer, I hate metal.

bullgarrafuerte 06-05-2006 09:04 AM

That really sucks.. I think he is not going to get somewhere having his metal band..but still dave is dave and I also think that he will be able to make ot somewhere

DJ Ducksauce 06-05-2006 11:39 AM

Sum 41 is pretty popular, but I don't think they're big enough to have a spin off band be very successful like blink could.

Bad Blood 06-05-2006 11:59 AM

Lmao! "Brown Brigade"

Well the whole band were all into metal.

punkrocker-182 06-05-2006 03:20 PM

I Like old Sum 41
Before Chuck.

bullgarrafuerte 06-06-2006 08:48 AM

I like to play pieces-- I think this is the only song they made this way. its like really quiet

Blink had like at least 4 spinoff bands....

punkrocker-182 06-06-2006 07:31 PM
Blink had like at least 4 spinoff bands....
5 soon.

DJ Ducksauce 06-06-2006 07:39 PM
Blink had like at least 4 spinoff bands....
Yeah, and all have done quite well for themselves.

I was saying that I don't think that the Brown Brigade will be that successful. It will have some following, but not a big one at first.

yourstruly 06-06-2006 10:27 PM

Yeah. I think his new band will be more like how the Foo Fighters formed. Dave came from a massively popular band but Foo Fighters still had to work hard to get where they are today.

2muchket! 06-07-2006 12:27 PM

Well I hope this doesn't affect them as a band and their new album. I thought Chuck sucked TBH
hey everyone so yes the rumors are true. dave has left the band. he was sick of this whole life and would have more fun playing in his own classic metal band. so we respect that. there's no hard feelings what so ever. the fact is dave lost interest a long time ago. not to take any credit away from him, but he really didn't have anything to do with this band creatively for a long time. i wrote all those riffs and played most of them on the albums. so from a creative stand point nothing is going to change with sum41. we will miss dave a lot. and we don't plan on replacing him. we are in the middle of making our greatest record yet. it will definitely be our most exciting and important record we've ever made. and we plan on touring more and longer on this album than we ever have before. this may sound weird but this is the best thing that could have happened to sum41 right now. because in order to make a great record everyone involved has to be excited. and daves excitment was gone after all killer. so don't worry, sum41 is still sum41 and will sound the way we always have. we're just bummed we won't get to share the same stage with dave anymore. see you all soon.
biz

we will hire someone that tours live but will not be a member of the band. that person won't be in videos, photos, or have any kind of decision making power in the band. they won't play on the albums. they will just play live with us. we don't know who that person will be yet. we don't need to think about it until the album is done.
Thats from deryck. Sounds suspiciously like Green Day to me :(

yourstruly 06-07-2006 07:29 PM

Yeah it does. I think it's pretty cheap to have someone doing all this work for your band and not actually being an official member of it.

DJ Ducksauce 06-07-2006 07:38 PM

Well GD at least gave the guy some credit. They actually introduced all of the players who weren't in the band in the BiaB DVD.

I think he'll eventually grow on them and then actually join. It'll take some time though.

bassist_for_a_band 06-07-2006 10:14 PM

In Green Day, Jason White was their friend, and in the When I Come Around video... I guess they just thought of him when they needed someone to play live shows. Their stuff is written with and for 3 players, only 1 being guitar... Jason is just for backgrounds and solos and stuff... Anything BJ doesn't play

With Sum 41, it's actually four-member music, and it'd be a lot different playing it with only 3 people. They're only going to be doing that so all of the parts are filled

I know it's a bit Green Day-esque, but it's not as much as one would think

yourstruly 06-07-2006 11:05 PM

I agree. The stuff Dave played was fairly difficult, they're gonna have to find a pretty decent guitarist.

chumpradio 06-08-2006 04:00 AM

To the people saying that it sounds suspiciously like Green Day : lots of bands have touring guitarists or musicians. It happens all the time with 3 piece bands who want a more full sound live.

2muchket! 06-08-2006 09:58 AM

Yeah agreed. G'n'R had a fuc'king army of touring musicinas :p

DJ Ducksauce 06-08-2006 10:02 AM
Yeah agreed. G'n'R had a fuc'king army of touring musicinas :p
Yeah, and back up singers too. Kiss has an orchestra. :p

2muchket! 06-08-2006 01:00 PM

And lars from Metallica has a huge ego that sorta counts :p
