It would be great to hear him, Id love to own the actual vinyl record too, that would be worth so much.
What songs did he record? I know he did Can I Sit Next to You Girl, wasnt there another one? |
Yes the B-Side was Rockin in the Parlour. I like Can I sit Next to You Girl but I only have Bon's version.
|
Don't forget to keep uploading Brewer, its great to hear these rarities.
Did Dave Evans record many songs then? Or just those two? |
Not only that, but Angus and Malcolm's tones are instantly recognizable.
Case in point- Id never heard Live Wire before, yet as soon as I heard the opening bass line, and the guitar kick in, I knew it was AC/DC. They've got one of the most recognizable sounds out there.
true. but the vocals are more recognizable i think |

Best rock n roll band there is and Angus is one fo the greatest guitar players and theyr riffs may be simple but the solo's are **** hard( I can see because some people find it to hard to post the solo of live wire complete.) But still wish i could one day paly better then him but that day will never come :P But i'll still enjoy it always enjoied it and all of there songs are great . Some fans say that flick of the switch and Fly on the wall or not so great but to me they're just anohter 2 great albums full of Good old ROck n roll
|
AC/DC aren't as talented as many bands but there still good. But if it weren't for AC/DC i probably wouldn't have started playing the guitar or listening to rock music at all. They just rock.

"It is released on some Euro Versions of Powerage on LP's, and a Box Set in Australia. but none the less still classed as rare." according to this site |

Perfectly said! :) |
Hey that site is great brewer. Do you think its true that Bon wasn't deemed official till Powerage?

I was pretty surprised when I read that, but I wouldnt doubt it.Although I cant imagine anyone besides Bon singing any of those songs. Hes an underrated songwriter also. |
Once again, thanks for the rares.
Have you got Fling thing/Rocker audio file? Its awesome on Family Jewels, and I've wanted it ever since I saw that video. Just, blew me away... Bon is a superb lyricist. I think they defined that rock and roll era. Great loss to the music industry. |

On Flick Of The Swich he uses a Steinburger sp?, and on the rest I think he uses a standard Fender bass. |
Can anyone actually hear the bass on any of their songs?
|

Yes. Listen to Live Wire and School Days. I know its not a high point of AC/DC but there is a few songs where you can clearly hear it. Especially the ones Mark Evans played on.
Can anyone actually hear the bass on any of their songs?
Live Wire and Sin City are about it, they don't have a very good bassist, Mark Evans was a lot better then Cliff Wiliams. On '74 Jailbreak it's obvious he is. |
All there stuff sounds the same. Angus Young is why too over rated. It's really sad how a band could acheive such popularity with songs that sound all the same and are as easy as sin. :upset: And I guess i don't like the whole "Gutiar dominates the rest of the band thing" either
|
I haven't heard anything by Dave Evans. The reason I ask is because when I was looking for a bass, I was thinking about getting his, not really because I'm a Cliff fan, more because I'm an AC/DC fan. But I already got my bass, lucky I picked the one I did too, it's a standard Fender bass =P

Good choice, that's a good bass for starters, that was the first bass I ever owned and it served me well, but now I have a Peavey and it is ****in awesome. |
