i move out in 2 weeks!
ill have my own place in 3 weeks :)

the2stranger 08-04-2008 11:10 AM
a whole lotta moving house - my parents are moving 200 miles away and taking the internet connection with them

then im moving to a 1 bedroom flat and ill get internet connection if i can afford it
The can I afford it question has no relevance.
If there is any question in relation to internet and it's cost it's: What money consuming thing should I save on, so that I can buy internet instead.
:p
Well I think it's a lot because I rarely re-read books, so for the one-time enjoyment that's a lot of money :(
You have a point there.
I don't reread books as fast, or as much as I rewatch movies, but I still think it's worth buying them.
And since I don't always feel like reading it in one go, libraries are no option for me.

kappala 08-04-2008 11:11 AM

there are probably people around not smart enough to lock their wi-fi

Aakon_Keetreh 08-04-2008 11:11 AM

im moving to dorms. so ill have a roommate, hopefully he is chill

good point.

Permanent Solution 08-04-2008 11:12 AM

Totally not true, I have like 15 wifi connection I can see at my house and they're all locked :(

Here in the Netherlands all these companies pop up now, offering internet, tv and fixed phoneline in one go, for a very good price.

 you mean youve tried?

kappala 08-04-2008 11:15 AM

Aakon_Keetreh 08-04-2008 11:15 AM

eh ill hopefully be able to stand it if he is chill.

kappala 08-04-2008 11:16 AM

Permanent Solution 08-04-2008 11:16 AM
 you mean youve tried?
yeah I tried hacking into all the local connections with good signal the first day I got there...not having home internets is hard :(

Brian: idk, mexicans work for cable companies too, maybe one figured it out and told all the other ones.

I'm not that big on TV, but it's nice to watch every now and then.
The main things I watch is news and d0cumentaries.

thats what they all say :smoke:

here it's different though - you have to pay for a TV license too which isn't worth it since anything i watch is really DVDs or stuff that's all downloadable on the internet

kappala 08-04-2008 11:21 AM

what? You have to have a license to own a TV?

Aakon_Keetreh 08-04-2008 11:29 AM

wtf

Stevie V 08-04-2008 12:05 PM

yeah

when TV started here it was just the BBC which relied on public funding - no adverts or anything so people were charged to own a TV in payment for the BBC programming

it hasn't changed

Ventriloquist 08-04-2008 12:05 PM
what? You have to have a license to own a TV?
Yea in UK you have to pay like a bit more than 100 pounds ~ 180 USD (I think) every year.

TojesDolan 08-04-2008 12:06 PM

or maybe it's just the cable service or something of that order

on a related note I bough maudlin of the well's "my fruit psychobells"

it was a good day

Stevie V 08-04-2008 12:09 PM

the BBC broadcasts some stuff with limited appeal alongside mainstream programming - stuff like napalm death, carcass, iron maiden and bolt thrower having BBC sessions were a result of this

kappala 08-04-2008 12:11 PM
Yea in UK you have to pay like a bit more than 100 pounds ~ 180 USD (I think) every year.
wow that's utterly gay

Stevie V 08-04-2008 12:23 PM

if we are chemical beings evolving from simple bacteria how are we any different from robots? if so do robots feel things?

kappala 08-04-2008 12:24 PM

we have evolved self awareness, robots are not self aware.

Stevie V 08-04-2008 12:27 PM

true, but if a robot is damaged and unable to work would it feel pain?

Nepenthe 08-04-2008 12:29 PM

it would have to catch cogito

botb 08-04-2008 12:34 PM

come on sucker lick my battery.

kappala 08-04-2008 12:37 PM
it would have to catch cogito
it would also have to catch pain receptors.

wtf we got a hottie secretary replacement 3 days before I leave for school.

Ventriloquist 08-04-2008 12:40 PM

3 days is a long time if you can use it efficiently :naughty:

adb 08-04-2008 12:42 PM

kappala 08-04-2008 12:44 PM
