Open minded!!! What have you been smoking? This is the maiden thread, it goes:

Maiden >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> all other bands who are **** compared to Maiden

:p

Xerxes 07-25-2006 06:46 PM

It sorta helps solidify the stereotypical Maiden fan. Don't be THAT kinda fan. :p
So what's with Iron Maiden not liking America?

Who does?

Lord Abortion 07-26-2006 06:34 AM

Uh...Where have you been living?

Do you not remember last time?!
Uh...Where have you been living?

I thought that was all Sharon Osbourne, nothing to do with America

the_uber_penguin 07-26-2006 04:11 PM

I heard that was all a publicity stunt anyway...

PAJJ 07-26-2006 04:21 PM

i can't see that, they willing had eggs thrown at them, and their set ****ed with for publicity, i'm sorry but i can't see maiden doing that.

I thought the lack of touring in the states was mainly due to poor cd sales, DoD didn't even go gold in the states.....

victim of changes 07-26-2006 08:38 PM

Yea also the fact that most kids around my age are so into hip-hop or emo music in the states, thats maybe one reason why they wanna attract younger crowds to their shows.

Lord Abortion 07-26-2006 08:40 PM
I heard that was all a publicity stunt anyway...
I highly doubt that, Maiden just wouldn't do that.

Aakon_Keetreh 07-26-2006 08:40 PM

So they listen to better music.

the_uber_penguin 07-27-2006 07:05 AM
I highly doubt that, Maiden just wouldn't do that.
It's not unknown. Remember how they deliberately caused a media outcry in the UK with their Sanctuary sleeve (they but a black box over the woman's eyes, then screamed "Censorship!")

I figured that's its possible this is the same thing, but on a much larger scale...given what gets onto album covers these days they couldn't pull that trick again, so they needed something bigger...

...I don't know what really happened at Ozzfest, but I wouldn't write off the publicity stunt theory.

So, I've been convincing my dad to take me and another friend to Montreal (And Quebec City also) to see Maiden (He'll only let me go if we can find another vehical other than our van and if he drives us there and stays at the hotel with us) and..It's going to cost me like $700 and then whatever for the tickets..:-\

Any idea of the price of the tickets yet?

Quiksilver26 07-27-2006 02:54 PM

^ From their website

Quebec show: Ticket price: $56.50 CAD

Montreal show: Ticket price: $54.20 CAD

Toronto show: Ticket prices - 67.50 / 52.50 / 39.50

Those are a lot cheaper than I thought they'd be, fuck yeah!!!

JamJar 07-27-2006 02:55 PM

I love how much cheaper they are ther. They were £40 here which is about $75 Canadian. Annoying.

Quiksilver26 07-27-2006 03:01 PM

Yeah man, i'm just happy that I dont have to spend all my money (which is very limited at the moment mind you) on these. Actually what me and my friends will probably end up doing is getting the cheap tickets, and just move up to the good seats when Maiden plays :thumb:.

Lord Abortion 07-27-2006 03:21 PM

The actual tickets aren't £40, the tickets plus £15 ticketmaster charges and postage is £40

JamJar 07-27-2006 03:23 PM

Were they not? They were £40 + charges I seem to remember. Unless the London tickets were just more expensive.

Shadows 07-27-2006 03:25 PM

Does Maiden have any songs where the solos go back back forth several times for a while? I'm looking for an IM song to quench my thirst for very long, extended solos. Plus something mad fun to learn on guitar.

/semi IM noob

Mikesn 07-27-2006 03:48 PM

Seventh Son of a Seventh Son?

It's got some harmonies between some of the solos, but that's the first one to come to mind

GenuineImitation 07-27-2006 06:00 PM

Did tickets go on sale yet?

ashman 07-27-2006 07:34 PM

Aye, that's probably one of the only songs I can think of.

So many new faces, I can't believe I'm losing track of my thread :P

Quiksilver26 07-27-2006 09:44 PM
Did tickets go on sale yet?
I think they go on sale the week or weekend of August 12. I really can't remember... it's not for a little bit though, don't worry you didn't miss you chance to get them :chug:

Surtr 07-28-2006 08:22 AM

They go on Sale August 14th or if your a IMOC Official Member you get to get 'em August 1st.

Thanks a ton for the ticket prices, now I can figure out how much this trip is going to cost me.

MrRhodes 07-28-2006 09:43 AM

Anyone else going to see them in December at SECC in Glasgow? I can't wait but after nearly dying at a Tool concert, I'm not so sure... Just kidding, its my first time and my friends 4th :p

Surtr 07-28-2006 09:45 AM

I saved my first concert for Maiden, which hopefully my dad's going to agree to take me and my friend up to Quebec.

Lord Abortion 07-28-2006 09:46 AM

I'm on my third Maiden time, going to Newcastle Arena:D

Surtr 07-28-2006 12:16 PM

Massive Thunder Storm DEAD over my house right now.

And all I have to say is.."Maybe Lightning, Strikes Twice!"

Rainmaker 07-29-2006 05:23 AM

http://www.ironmaidenonlineclub.com/showthread.php?t=6646

Mother 07-29-2006 06:03 AM
