Germany is a beautiful beautiful country..

Thanks for the upload, have you ever heard Kashmir? (the band)
Nope. Should I?

Jake: It'll grow on you, it did on me. What's your situation now on OK Computer?

denboy 09-06-2005 08:42 PM

Oh man, that vocals solo thing, was awesome.. (I thought it was pretty obvious it wasn't chino though).. The rest of the song was pretty good , digged the drums, I might actually listen to it again!

Kage, yes!.. They share the same qualities as dredg and porcupine tree.. Without necesarily sounding like them.. They sound completely different from album to album.. I'll upload you some songs

Moses 09-06-2005 08:43 PM

You better absorb it's greatness, Jake.

Around the Fur is the only Deftones album I don't have. Is it worth getting? I expect it to be a little like Adrenaline but with a darker vibe.
Me.

I'm listening to White Pony right now. It's another one of those albums that I bought, but never really got into. Similair to OK Computer, Kage. Maybe I'll pop it into my truck's CD player so I can absorb it's greatness.

I came up with the name, fool! -stabs j00-
What's your situation now on OK Computer?
I'm listening to it right now :x

I finally appreciate it enough to listen to it. :p
I came up with the name, fool! -stabs j00-
Yeah, you did. I got it to be the name though. :p

denboy 09-06-2005 08:57 PM

I uploaded the first track from each of their albums..
Jamie fame flame is from their debut
Vote 4 dick taid, is from their second album
Mom in love, dad in space, third
and rocket brothers their fourth and most recent.. (although they're coming out with a new album soon)
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=425D9MRZ

Jake should listen to this too hehe

Darkness 09-06-2005 08:58 PM

I really don't like Deftones that much... they just don't do anything for me...

Moses 09-06-2005 08:59 PM

What have you heard?

Dr. Jake Destructo 09-06-2005 09:02 PM

http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=332764

For those of you who have heard Porcupine Tree's Sound of Muzak, download/stream the top track on there, and tell me what you think of the tone I got.

I'll check out the file, Knifeboy.

And if anyone is trying to AIM me, I can't send outgoing messages. :-/

Darkness 09-06-2005 09:03 PM

That song that Kage uploaded just now, that song "Change", and I heard another song off White Pony that my bassist let me hear. None really did anything for me, they don't suck or anything their just not really my band.

denboy 09-06-2005 09:05 PM

You should listen to them in the right order, just to get the full effect ;) heheh.. And don't stop listening just because you dislike one of the tracks.. Since like I said, their earlier songs sound nothing like their later

Moses 09-06-2005 09:08 PM

Someone upload the man Passenger......

It features that one guy from that one band, you know Maynerd somthing...... from .... Tool.

denboy 09-06-2005 09:10 PM

If there's any other deftones song that sound even remotely similar to Passenger.. Tell me now!!.. (Or die! )

Moses 09-06-2005 09:11 PM

I'll upload a few songs. Looks as though you're hooked Knifeboy.

denboy 09-06-2005 09:12 PM

I've been hooked to passenger for ages, but I haven't heard any other Deftones song that sounded similar to it

Edit: Jake, that tone is waaay too bassy.. Are you using the neck pick up only? if yes, switch to middle or bridge

Dr. Jake Destructo 09-06-2005 09:15 PM

Wow, I honestly never scrutinized White Pony like I do most albums; Now that I am doing so, Digital Bath is amazing. The vocal reverb something or another is amazing. And the samples are awesome as well.

Moses 09-06-2005 09:20 PM

Digital Bath
Root
Minerva
Passenger
Bored
There's some.

I tried making a diverse selection of my favorite songs from them.

Dr. Jake Destructo 09-06-2005 09:23 PM

Minerva is a wicked track. I heard it on the NHL 2004 soundtrack, and it was by far the best song on there. Mainly because it was competing with lame pop punk bands. Still an extremely solid track.

Kage 09-06-2005 09:32 PM

Knife, you got me really excited about that band...but the link isn't working

Jake, listening to your soundclick thing now.

denboy 09-06-2005 09:33 PM

There's a "popup" thingie, you have to close by pressing the x, and behind it is the link to download it, I think

Kage 09-06-2005 09:35 PM

Nah, the page just wasn't loading, but now it's working alright. Ah, the irony of the internet.

Jake, your tone sounds really good for the song, but roll back on the bass just a little bit is my only criticism.

denboy 09-06-2005 09:36 PM

Ah ok.. Hehe .. And yeah, I forgot to mention that apart from it being too bassy, it's good

And wow.. Minerva and Root, kicked my ass with awesomeness

Moses 09-06-2005 09:37 PM

Well any non-Deftones fans make sure you listen to those songs. I'm off to bed.

Night guys.

Dr. Jake Destructo 09-06-2005 09:37 PM

Holy crap. I was just blown away by Knife Prty. :amaze: The screaming near the end of that solo are flat out :amaze:ing. I mean, seriously like nothing I've ever heard.

Wow, this album really is kickass!

/trying to DL Kashmir stuff

Kage- Allright, that's exactly the kind of thing I wanted to hear. :p I recorded it once with my humbucker pickup, and it sounded really muddy. Maybe it was just the bass, but I'll be sure to see how it sounds with less bass.

Kage 09-06-2005 09:38 PM

Man, I hate Megaupload. I realize it's more reliable/permanent, but it goes so much slower than YSI for me. I need to be heading to bed, so I won't be able to listen to Kashmir until tommorow.

:D Makes me really glad that you're liking it now. Tolja so!

Moses 09-06-2005 09:39 PM

White Pony is one of those albums that you put away for a long time and don't appreciate so you don't get back to it for a long time. Then you listen again and you're floored. Actually that seems like Deftones in general for me.

BlindWriting 09-06-2005 09:40 PM

Deftones are great. Highly underrated band.

Change (In The House Of Flies), Passenger, Minerva, Hexagram, Digital Bath, and My Own Summer are all awesome. I'd really like to pick up White Pony at some point.

Chino Moreno's an all-around great vocalist. I've heard so-so things about his live performances, but when I saw Team Sleep last June, I was completely blown away.

I knew I should've used YSI!..

*falls down on his knees*
Sorry for betraying you oh mighty YSI, I'll make up for it tomorrow by uploading porn

Kage 09-06-2005 09:43 PM

Haha...Oh well, I'll listen to it tommorow and give feedback then. Until then, g'night all.

I downloaded Passenger because it has the Nard, and Minerva because Jake said it was good... I'll listen now.... well after This Godless Endeavor.
