He takes a completely different approach to his vocals and music in APC than he does in Tool. In Tool his vocals are part of a collective, they are part of the whole and function more like an instrument equal with the guitar bass and drums and whatnot. In APC his vocals are much more upfront which allows him to focus on them more as well. His vocal melodies in APC are also very different, because with different music comes different vocal melodies, I think we can agree that Tool and APC do not sound very similar at all musically. So yeah they have the same singer, but they are two dramatically different approaches, and when we say that his vocals remind us of APC in this song, we mean that some of the melodies in which he sings are similar to those in APC and that he might have applied some of his APC-esque approaches to this song.

I have heard it and I love it. I see the APC vocals influence and it doesn't bother me. I like how the vocals are kinda in the background a bit. The first time I listened to it, it kinda bothered me.

Maynard hits some pretty high notes towards the end of the song and maintains his tone very well too. It's awesome.

Remember this is just the first song off the CD, imagine the whole album. **** i can't wait till may 2nd but this leak will hold me off until then. THis is a really really radio-friendly song. They did say this album was more down to earth, and it does sound down to earth.
