Is there anybody else like me who is lives for live albums ( :lol: sorry)? I usually try to find a good live album by a band I like and then I usually never pick up the studio again. I can't even remember the last time I listened to a studio Hendrix song.

im not completely obsessed by them, but i definitely enjoy them. i own quite a few too. they can be pretty addictive.

99% of the time, good bands are better live than in studio.

Yea if a band I like is a bad live band then I usually stop listening to them. Not because they are a bad live band, but because like I said before I flock to live albums so they get pushed down on my list.....except the Beatles I don't own any of their live stuff but I listen to them everyday. But they are god studio or no studio.

What bands that are out today will be remembered as classic rock by our children? I think Tool Rage Against the Machine, Nirvana ( :rolleyes: ) and Dream Theather will. What about you?

I tell you what, I hope that hair metal isn't classified as classic rock.

How about instead of Country Rock we do a Southern Rock one?

You know I just hope somday the people from our generation just look back on how great we thought they were and laugh. Its kind of depressing because I'm sure people would like them more if their fans didn't try to pass them off as god.... it just kills the band.

I like Velvet Revolver. I completely respect Slash and Duff. Matt...not as much because he's a di[color=white]ck[/color] but other than that, it's good music.

I never said the individual members were bad. I just feel they could be doing better things had they not gone into a super group.....but whether they were bad or not wasn't really the point of the post.

Yea, I don't see why people keep bashing Velvet Revolver. I don't think they're that bad at all, it's good for a listen every now and then.

I don't mind them playing Nirvana, I like quite a few of their songs.

"You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go" is one of the better tracks on that album but I'm cliche and my favorite is "Tangled Up In Blue."

I'm just listening to my live Skynyrd album, I don't see why people dislike them.

I love Skynyrds rocks songs, but i cant stand their songs that are really heavily southern rock, which is why sweet home alabama is one of my least favorite, but songs Saturday Night Special are really good

You do them individually. I myself am trying to get on the list of writers, so I can write one up on Country Rock.

And being that Country Rock and Southern Rock really do not have a relations, if this was a group effort, that'd be useless. Plus, Country Rock is much more consistent, wide ranged and needed.

I'm going to do an F.A on them instead of the VU now, I feel the myth of their "Racist" ways needs to be cleared.

But I disagree with the person who dislikes their Southern feel, that's who they are and that's why I like them.

I'm not big into Skynyrd. I'd take the Allmans any day, and that's pretty much as far as I go into southern rock.

No your not ignorant. Like I've said many times before Nirvana is a fine band, people just make them out to be more then they are. I have no problem with the band, its the fans I have a problem with.

One More From The Road is one of my favorite Live Albums, that is one helluva album.

Yea, I have already started listing older Country Rock bands, new Country Rock bands, and bands that influenced Country Rock. I'm almost ready to start writing.

P.S. There are many more Country Rock bands than The Eagles, The Byrds, and The New Riders.
