I've been up to Connecticut enough that I'm used to the cold. It actually started snowing right as we left school today, and it was still sunny. Bizarre.

Happens alot, but we havn't gotten a flurry yet this year in MA. It's probably the water since I live on an island and it takes forever for the water to start getting cold.

It should be colder because water has a higher heat capacity than air and also if you're on the coastline you should be getting the North Atlantic cold current running past you AS WE SPEAK.

I don't know about dropping out. He'll at least be sticking around another semester to study anthropology in Mexico this spring.

That would be cool. I'm trying to decide if other societies are different enough from American society to make me comfortable living there...but the problem is pretty much everywhere is America Jr. now.
