Do we have any other bass players in the house? If so, do you think that Invaders is incredibly fun to play? I know I sure do.

Shadius 07-21-2006 02:49 PM

It sounds fun to play on bass, I've always thought that.

Thor 07-21-2006 02:50 PM

Yeah the frequent bass fills in the verse are simply a blast.

the_uber_penguin 07-21-2006 05:33 PM

The bass player in my band tells me Sanctuary is the most fun he's had on bass.

He also tells me that for the bass solo in one of our songs, he just plays as many Iron Maiden fills as he can think off until the drum cue to switch to the guitar solo (at which point I come in to rip off Adrian's solo in No More Lies)

One of my favorite maiden songs to play along to,the 'beast album really has some great bass lines on it.

Anyway, since Maiden are not playing the US durring summer i can no longer see them :crys:

If Rhapsody don't add the UK to their next tour, likewise.

Even so

I guess i will just have to settle for a dvd :(

Quiksilver26 07-23-2006 03:25 AM

Fuck it, I think Maiden should take Rhapsody on tour with them, I would literally pay just about any amount of money to go see that.

PAJJ 07-24-2006 06:06 AM

Maiden should have Voodoo Six support like they did at hammersmith, i really liked them, and they seemed to go down pretty well.
Or
They shouldn't take anyone i mean it's maiden why the **** do we need some ****ty band before them?

JamJar 07-24-2006 07:27 AM

They should definitely take a power metal act. Not Trivium

Mikesn 07-24-2006 12:14 PM

I agree, but I'd rather have Trivium than Bullet For My Valentine. I can't stand those guys.

Leper Affinity 07-24-2006 12:17 PM

I'd much, much rather have Bullet for My Valentine than Trivium.

pate 07-24-2006 12:35 PM

U.S. tour dates announced!

Methinks I'll skip Gigantour and do Maiden instead.

Lord Abortion 07-24-2006 12:48 PM

Bullet for My Valentine, I would prefer over Trivium, because they're Welsh, and I can shout abuse at them like I did last week when they were supporting GNR.

the_uber_penguin 07-24-2006 12:52 PM

I want my band to support Iron Maiden.

I think major touring bands should have a different (local) support act for every venue they play.

Not exactly sure how they'd organize it, but it would be cool.

I have the feeling Placebo did that on their last tour...

victim of changes 07-24-2006 09:00 PM

World Tour!!!!

Stormrider 07-24-2006 10:34 PM

Oh, they're coming here the 10th of October.

Wonder how much the tickets will be.

pate 07-24-2006 10:37 PM

You get BG a week after me, I get Maiden two weeks after you. The 22nd FTL

Up The Irons 07-25-2006 12:36 AM

So what's with Iron Maiden not liking America?
They have like 6 shows in the whole country

I think that's a good idea. It'd give local bands more exposure.

crag 07-25-2006 06:05 AM

Heh, i'm glad Trivium are supporting. If it weren't for them i would be going to see Maiden alone.

Joe 07-25-2006 11:33 AM

Why aren't they playing any further south? I guess I'm driving up to Jersey.

dwass5656 07-25-2006 11:53 AM

Listen to Run To The Hills by Iron Maiden : http://www.napster.com/player/tracks/15222638

i love this band!

IheartSP 07-25-2006 12:00 PM

Sweet I get the first show of the tour!

Is Trivium really supporting them? That is severely dissapointing and makes me lose some respect for Maiden. Even if their music has never sold out, their reputation is slipping if they start touring with "innovative new bands" like Trivium.

Apparently they're touring with ''innovative new bands'' to bring in new younger audiences.....or so i've heard.

IheartSP 07-25-2006 12:06 PM

Sounds like they are selling out yet trying to sidestep around it at the same time. This way they are selling out more under the radar than changing their own music.

I think people who are hardcore Trivium fans and hardcore Maiden fans have a screw loose somewhere becuase if you can appreciate Maiden's greatness you should also be able to see how bland and untasteful Trivium is.

Lord Abortion 07-25-2006 01:31 PM

That's pretty much the point.

stupid ****ing kids like them, so maybe they'll like Maiden too.

Quiksilver26 07-25-2006 02:40 PM

Ugh and now they have Bullet for my Valentine opening on the NA tour... Atleast I know I can show up late and not miss anything special

PAJJ 07-25-2006 06:05 PM

i'm not bothered really who supports them, anyone would be **** compared to maiden, and just frustratingly in the way,
i'm gonna wander on in after the support has finished,
and anyway IMO BFMV or Trivium would both be better then FFAF who were the support on DoD

Xerxes 07-25-2006 06:36 PM

Eh... you guys have GOT to be more open minded. These bands may suck to you that are opening for them, but to others they don't. Don't make statements disregarding the tastes of another, that's never a smart idea. To a vast ammount of people, rock and metal in general is devil worshipping music, and isn't even given a chance.

...and for the record, I agree, Trivium and BFMV blow IMO.
